So we decided to turn over a new leaf at work. Turns out my old manager is under extreme stress for me to succeed in my role. From the way he was saying it, it sounded like there was some hectic shit going on in the background.

He apologised to the 2 dudes he shoved and he's gone back to being normal.

So that's a win.

We worked twice as hard (literally) at last week's eofy event than the same time last year, however there is a backlog of work because we're understaffed and the expectation from the old timers is that we work 12 hour days every day to get it done.

That's not how things work these days. It's not the late 90s.

And the world isnt going to end.

Would have been nice for someone to say "good work leading the team dude".

I get why people buy lottery tickets.

Meeting went really well thankfully. All is sorted now.

He's 55.

His problem is that I showed him up. The team did an incredible job this year, almost double what they did last year and he can't hack that someone is doing a better job.

I've got a meeting tomorrow with my new manager who's slt in the morning so it'll be good to have a chat.

Because later in the day, I have my 3 month "Check in" which sadly includes the old manager.

Old manager tried to make me look bad again. I delivered the greatest possible fisting I could whilst remaining within the boundaries of being professional.

Ordered new lenses for my prescription sunnies. $400.

Ouch.

Really adds a bit of life to this dreary old place.

Dream:

I was trying to climb this roof and no matter what, couldn't do it. Was terrified of letting go and jumping back to the ground.

Eventually ran out of energy and fell. Turned out it was a negligible fall.

Ended up just walking around to get where I wanted to go instead.

Seems allegorical.

Edit: I think I figured it out. This is about performing again. I don't need to write new material which I've been struggling with.

Covers will do just to get out there again.
