    That's actually not bad. That's a slow leak that has plenty of time to dilute with the ground water.

    Dilution is the solution to pollution.

    This is a fearmongering, sensationalist, click baity style article.

  • It's just a weird thing I have now that I'm a chemistry major. 🤣

    I love my friends and family across the pond.

    I often pull out that linguistically, my Appalachian dialect of English is closer to Elizabethan English than anything else spoken today. 🙂

    In the end, it doesn't really matter to anyone except pedants.

  • I won't concede any part of American English until they start pronouncing "aluminum" instead of "aluminium".

    We found the element, so we got to name it, and it doesn't matter if it breaks with the naming convention that was already established.

  • This is only vaguely related, but I took 2 semesters of Japanese back when I was working on my geology degree. My professor was able to bring a koto player to the university, and explained that the profession was reserved for the blind in Japan - to ensure that there were some jobs available for them.
