I'm a big fan of Murakami also and I loved reading these books. I have some gripes but I can't get into them because of spoilers. I hope you keep enjoying it!

I would disagree, as someone who didn't grow up with Nintendo and very recently got a switch. The games have a very distinct feel and artstyle that isn't very common. They also have great scores and are generally quality games.

Hasn't it already been established that threads would most likely deathhug most of the fediverse? It's content would be overwhelming and nothing could keep up with it. I'd rather have the fediverse be a more small scale, cozy and niche.
It's probably for the best. Have you or your family ever consider referring your father to a therapist? It doesn't excuse anything he did, especially being physically abusive but it might be an idea.
