What do you want to do with gold or USD if the us economy collapses? This isn't the middle Ages where you can pay the peasants with gold or silver coins. In an economic collapse canned food, fuel, etc. will be useful. Something people need every day and can be swapped in small quantities.

Afaik they started development when overwatch was already successful. By the time development finished the hype was over and players had moved to other genres, and had very little interest in an overwatch clone.

Yeah, but the decision was made in 2011 after Fukushima, and before the Russian invasion in 2014. At this time it did make sense, gas was much cheaper and Germany still had an has no long term plan to deal with the nuclear waste.
