1: They probably should as customer satisfaction is a huge part of any business involving customers.

2: I'm not necessarily talking about UberEats, I stopped using their services during the pandemic when a $15 meal magically turned into $43 by virtue of pure unadulterated magic. This is a problem that occurs even with in house delivery people who I assure you very much have a boss.

3: I don't care if anybody involved doesn't give a shit about my customer satisfaction. I care about people doing their job. I don't get to hang up on people who call me for help on the phones when their being twats because part of my job is handling those twats. If part of your job is delivering food to a specified address, then do your job and deliver the food to the specified address. Failure to do so means you aren't doing your job lol.

I order it for delivery, you're arse comes to my door. I don't care if it's a house, I don't care if I live 400 floors up in a space elevator. If the apartment number is on the order, buckle the fuck up, sunshine.

Delivery guys ring my buzzer, I don't talk to em I just hit the button to open the front door and they can figure their lives out from there. If they call me from their cell phone, sorry kemosabe but I don't know your number and don't answer phone calls from random numbers I don't know.

Food at my door, period. Don't even have to look at me, you can drop it and run for the hills to make up time for all I care. But it's at my door or your boss gets a phone call lol.

When the Redditpocalypse started and we all came this way, someone made a post about this very thing. I still stand by my statement that day (which I paraphrase):

kbin has been vastly lagging behind lemmy because for a lengthy period of time development has been effectively stopped as the primary dev (ernest) was going through some bad real life issues which took priority. This led to a lot of people leaving kbin or blocking it outright because of spam and bots and lack of updates.

Ernest returned a weekish ago and is back to publishing updates (including several which have already killed the spam problem, being able to transfer community ownership and more) and daily posts dictating what he's working on and pushing (including the API which should be within the next few days).

Lemmy at this point has had a huge head start and isn't basically one person so kbin lagging behind isn't surprising. Doesn't mean their statement of 'But this is also why Kbin is the best technology, combining both platforms.' is any less accurate. Kbin does combine both platforms, Lemmy doesn't. 'Best' can be subjective, but if that's their opinion then there ya go.

I'll toss a shot in for Shadow of Mordor (as I've always meant to play it and never have).

Favourite game: Illusion of Gaia (SNES). Amazing little action-rpg, part of an unofficial trilogy with Soul Blazer and Terranigma. A must play IMO.

99% of the time I've seen the spam over here it seems to be from !random so I unfollowed/blocked them a while back so I get what ya mean. This update I would imagine should help at least in some situations, so fingers crossed it won't be long for more updates to fix the rest!

For what it's worth, Ernest has returned and is back to work (he's posted once or twice in the last day or two, starting a daily update for everyone). I think he said today should see an update pushed out (iirc the one which will allow transfer of magazine ownership), so things are finally moving again.

This was basically my situation, and it happened at age 4 so ironically some of my first memories are relating to my own circumcision 🙃. I also remember the doctor, with me laying on the table, trying to pull back my foreskin (again..4..) and making the call that I should be circumcised.

I'm not gonna gripe much about it after the fact. My mother did much, much worse things to me than have me circumcised for me to complain about so it's just one more thing on the pile. I have zero frame of reference to feeling what being uncircumcised is like so I can't really miss what I don't know, but my cock works as well as I want and need it to (fuck even more than I want it to some days at 40yo..) so while I'm not happy it occurred without my consent, there's little I can do with it and it has thankfully never affected my life in any negative way.

My wife and I are both in agreement however that should we ever have kids, we sure aren't doing it outside of actual medical needs.
