  • These days (I’m 37) its not about the time taken but whether a game just feels like work.

I know that would be different for everyone. But I pumped 140+ hours into Eldenring. Loved every battle and experience. But most other games after a few hours if it feels more like work than fun then I give up. Time is too precious and I’m already overworked.

I can see why easy mode exists now, I want a sense of fulfilment and experience but I dont want a game to create unnecessary work

  • I really enjoy The Orville, I like Star Trek.

I dunno if its the levity in The Orville but it just feels wholesome. The right balance between science, space and entertainment.

Both are my ideas of utopia. I think thats what draws me into each series separately

  • Wow, Lemmy is so different. On reddit or other platforms any hint of Israel criticism and you would be vilified and downvoted..

Completely blocking any rational discussion. This level of discussion helps digest the complexity of the situation.

  • Does anyone else like turning history off just so they can see random new stuff?

Sometimes I use Youtube in a private browser just so I can actually be exposed to new information and channels.

Its so annoying that the algorithm is always trying to pigeon hole my feed (facebook and spotify are the same)

  • I see this has caused controversy! Interesting

I saw him pop up recently in another thread. I don’t ever think someone holds all the answers to the world problems or someone or something is wholly responsible (maybe besides greed) but I think it’s important to be exposed to other narratives and views to make a better sense of the world.

I don’t claim that his narrative is correct but it’s interesting to think about the concepts he presents

  • Fuck those poor people… until whoops too many average Australians required covid benefits and everyone realised the amounts offered were not sustainable for living…

We forgot about that so back to demonising the poor.

How about instead we properly tax the super profits of big business. Then there is lots of money for the projects and people that enrich our society and lives

  • Really want this to be my bae but struggling to find content and the fediverse is confusing. I don’t know if it’s me or the app.

Now I’m filling my time with YouTube and Firefox focus to avoid too many ads
