I understand what you are getting at, but he doesn't deserve sympathy. This man has directly made the world significantly worse, by inflicting and inciting violence on others. If you do not wish to get involved in a violent act in order to decrease the total amount of violence in the world, that's perfectly reasonable. I also think it's fine to decide that violence is not for you, and wish to have no part in it while also recognizing that violence happens in the world and sometimes the outcome of that violence is for the better or for the worse.

I personally strive to commit as little violence as possible in the world. I'm a peaceful person who wishes to uplift and care for others. But I also have very little sympathy for folks who are violent towards others, because they are actively making the world worse. In a perfect society, we could rehabilitate or humanely control/prevent this violence, but we do not live in a perfect society. I cannot be tolerant of the intolerant because it feels better to hope for their salvation. This world demands that we be intolerant of those who advocate for violence because the outcomes when we tolerate them are horrific and result in much more violence and tragedy in the world.

This is just a reminder to be nice on our instance - this could be read as hostile or not extending good faith to the other user.

Since I finished erdtree I jumped into DMC5. Combat feels so awkward in this game and it's so clear the control schemes are from ages ago. It's had me thinking about whether I want to just pick up another game on my list like BG3 or cyberpunk 2077 and finally play through it, or if I want to just start a new character or re-do the erdtree DLC (made a copy of my SL110 char before beginning DLC) so I can do all the new content properly. Still slowly working my way thru DMC5 but I'm like 7 missions in and while it's getting better as I unlock skills it just doesn't feel smooth.

The entire dissent was a solid read, if you're into that kind of stuff. Just another little choice quote which made me chuckle:

Fantastic points, and I think that's touched upon when the author talks about 'brokenness' towards the end. There's systems that don't work, and it's not just issues of regulation that are needed to fix it. Much like progressives in the early 1900s had to radically rethink entire systems (new deal) we need similar ideas today to fix problems which are multifaceted and difficult. Affordable housing is infrastructure, unaffordable housing is not.

Yea annoying hitboxes and a lot of move past you attacks where you gotta go chase after him or he does the stupid charge which doesn't stop right after it hits you and can hit you twice if you're near a wall or hit you after the roll i-frames expire. Overall fairly easy moves to learn the dodge patterns, although the gravity stuff can be extra annoying.

Just finished last boss of erdtree. That one needs some serious tuning- some of the moves are far too powerful and annoying. Unsure if I want to roll another character since it's been so long since I played through the game. Spent some amount of hours in coop helping others after beating it since I don't really have another game on deck right now. Missed out on a fair deal of DLC quests and storylines because I didn't read everything before my first run through, I could reboot a save pre-DLC and respec into something completely different and then play through it instead of a fresh character I guess.

To be fair, congress could pass a law that explicitly states what the old Chevron decision did, that these agencies have power to set standards. That wouldn't solve the broken court which should have been packed as soon as Biden took office but it would at least explicitly stop the federalist anti regulatory stance as it would be in the word of law.

Investing a bunch of time into Erdtree. I think some of the bosses probably need a bit of tweaking, in particular Rellana seems to be a spot where lots of folks are struggling. I wonder if someone will figure out the Scaudtree fragment mitigation/dmg boost, but there's definitely a lack of pre-Rellana fragments or just a general struggle with this boss based on how quickly you can get summoned and how quickly people seem to just straight up die when fighting this boss lmao. Took a lot of tries to down him the first time myself but I also haven't touched this game since release and I played through it pretty quick.

Started off pride month practically in heat. Spent the last few days having a bunch of gay sex. Emotions be going wild, not sure what's up. I feel kinda all over the place lately. Maybe I need a day to myself to introspect? Honestly not sure.

Dropping this in the chat community because I'm not sure at this point whether it warrants a formal philosophy doc. Not opposed to cleaning it up and adding it to the documents in the future, but mostly wanted to address what happened recently in LGBTQ+ and make a few things as clear as possible
