  • I had a family member like this... They'd go off about how awful capitalism is, and the shit that goes with it (to which I'd generally agree) but have a house full of google home devices, brag about how much they buy on amazon, and simp for the giant megacorp for which they worked a retail job...

It woulda been funny if it wasn't so sad.

  • You were lied to. It should work that way but it doesn't, and that -really- sucks.

But now what do you do with that understanding? Do you continue to try and will the lie into being, or do you act according to the truth?

  • While the title doesn't imply the two are mutually exclusive... I agree. It's a Salon article.

"Back in my day" that type of journalism was sold at grocery store checkouts right next to National Inquirer. It's all just shit meant to monetize our (valid) emotions about this orange fuckwit.

  • While I agree with your assessment, I don't think it'll have much of an impact on turn out. Everyone who's paying attention has likely already made up their mind.

What I think we need now is more peer to peer grassroots messaging. Get those who aren't paying enough attention informed and motivated, while not wasting time on trying to -change- minds.
