  • I feel like a big factor here is that it costs Amazon basically nothing to add another item for you to scroll through. Brick and mortar stores are naturally more restricted so you get a more curated inventory. One thing I like about shopping at Costco is that I never have to decide if Xyzxel or Bimdang is the more trustworthy brand.

  • You could try turning up your extrusion and temp a little bit. Pushing more material should give added smoosh and better adhesion. I'd make a small model with the same feature I'm having trouble with to test settings with, then try the whole print with the new settings and cross my fingers.

  • causing them to suffer "embarrassment, ridicule, emotional distress, humiliation, and loss of reputation."

Hold up, who caused that? Seems like it wouldn't have been possible if they hadn't acted in a way that was embarrassing, ridiculous, and humiliating.

  • Mass stabbings aren't common here but happen fairly frequently around the world. They aren't common here because you don't bring a knife to a gun fight.

Bombings aren't as common as school shootings because most school shooters don't want to kill that indiscriminately. Also, while it's not particularly difficult to create an effective bomb, getting ahold of a gun is probably easier.

But the point is that conditions in this country are driving people to violence and the actual argument is that we need to do something about violence, not guns.

  • Any solution that tries to replace the stuff you just mentioned with some kind of prohibition is doomed to fail. If all the guns in the world vanished tomorrow we'd just be having this argument about mass stabbings and school bombings instead.

  • If it were about money these companies would be jumping at the opportunity to let employees work from home.

But the office is four years into a ten year lease, so any savings will end up being some other manager's bonus. Right now I need everyone to be in the office to attend my pizza party because that's what you're getting instead of a raise.

  • how much do you need to pay a retail employee to come back to work

Probably a lot less than you'd think. With UBI there's no need for a minimum wage so if you're offering a great work environment you could pay next to nothing for labor. If the job that needs done is inherently shitty you might have to pay more, but that's already how it is for quite a few things.
