  • Yes, because I wanted some context. If North Korea brought this case I'd take a similar double-take and ask questions.

NK is not and has never been responsible for genocide and indeed does condemn Israel in the strongest terms. Try again, weaboo.

  • If that was adequate to explain Youtube's decision-making, the platform would be unrecognizably different for all of the terrible things Youtube didn't do because it would be -- and indeed was -- terrible

  • In America there are "do not call" lists and I think it's illegal to cold-call numbers on those. Otherwise, you're free game if there's not a state or municipal law protecting you (and there rarely is). Maybe Australia has something similar.

Either way, you'll get far fewer inquiries from landsharks if you stop hoarding properties and parasitizing the wages of people who work.

  • I see you invoking the Maoist uprising in another comment, but I'll be honest - the years following that uprising were hard for a huge swathe of the population (not to mention fatal for Millions more). I would not want to live through a Chairman Mao.

If you think it was hard to live under Mao, you should see what it was like before him.

  • You are right about the economic side, but there are different species of parasitic insects in different places and what diseases they are capable of carrying varies, which accounts for some of how we have seen the damage of European parasitism manifest.

  • I would articulate it along the lines of "not representing any sort of contrary camp to or path out of the status quo". Libs are often okay with you making sweeping condemnations, so long as the range of the sweep also includes the opposition, because it ultimately still supports the status quo to support nothing.

  • Even weirder how they defederated Hexbear then though; that conversation is with Hexbear users who they clearly agree with.

They are friendly to chasers and really heckin' mad about tankies, so they won't get along with HB even if both parties rightfully hate Rowling.

  • while lemmy.ml rules are mainly the job of the mods??? Congratulations, that's the dumbest thing that I've read today.

Comm rules exist in addition to instance rules. You know, like those where "knowing about anime" etc. might actually carry some importance. Your rush to do an own has left you speaking complete nonsense.

  • I mean the show is risque, but

If there's an "uncensored" version* because of the nudity, it probably qualifies as soft porn, all the more when a portion of the cast are minors (as the Wikipedia summary suggests they are). This doesn't strike me as a hill worth dying on.

    *It's been trending on 9anime

  • You need to know a topic decently enough to be able to moderate a community about it. And yet it's unreasonable to expect the admins of lemmy.ml - a community about free/open source and privacy - to know about anime.

This is what mods are for. The sleight-of-hand is silly and obvious.

  • Security through obscurity is a notoriously sophomoric strategy that won't keep out a dedicated attacker

That and some major proprietary software has had built-in backdoors for decades at this point, I'm pretty sure (I think this is more of a Windows than an Apple thing, but Apple has its own issues)
