Expensive, fragile and rather useless unless you plan to replace your computer and in that case you just made a bad decition. I think it's a very desperate attempt to hype yet another generation of smartphones no one needs with a gimmick becuase sales go down.
It would definitely fit that instance too, it's also some quality shitpost and could fit in political communities as well so kind of a universal one if you ask me!
Tankies love authority and are happy to accept facist ideologies, I think they are in the protest part of society that switches between left and right whenever its convinient for them! (We have seen that phenomena in Europe a lot with conspiracy theorists in general)
What I mean with "universal login" is one account for multiple Fediverse services, I guess that wasn't clear from my post. Yea, proper migration is hard and questionable if we should even allow it (could cause all kinds of issues, espwcially regarding account security) but Mastodon allows you to move your followers and add a redirect which is the most important part of the account and Lemmy should probably try to do something similar with ranks and communities.
I don't host my own instance but that sounds immensly overpowered for the job! Lemmy doesn't even host images and pure text, a database and web interface shouldn't be that hard to host
The universal login is a very old suggestion but it'srealluy hard to pull off because that would have to be build into the core of the protocol. About the migration, that's a Lemmy issue, not a general Fediverse one
It's facinating to see Lemmy go wild, kind of sad how many seem to support dictators with concentration camps and similar shit but also cool how many downvote them!
A refurbished Pixel or older refurbished OnePlus, they have great third party software support so you can just throw Lineage or /e/OS on there and never worry about crappy software and/or bloatware again!
In theory none of those sites can afford to block that user agent, maybe there is something else detected (I have no clue) but if they blocked those Google couldn't list them in their search anymore and that would basically be a death sentence for Reddit!
I don't use Reddit anymore but if absolutely everything goes bad you can pretend to be the Google bot, that works even for Twitter but idk if it will influence your experience to some degree.
Good luck, at least it's not a new one but they are though to repair for years now! Btw isn't one with a Butterfly keyboard?
