Not sure how much trueth is behind their new claims that they got multiple takedown requests but for some reason I was insulted for not knowing never mentioned or published, would certainly be a better reason but conaideringtheir past behaviour and complete lack of aknowledgment I am not too sure about that tbh.
You seem to confuse mods and admins, the only thing mods do is run and and moderate specific communities to keep a nice environment people want to participate in. Admins on the other hand manage the instance and are vastly different for most instances (there are some with significant overlap like Lemmy.ml and Lemmingrad but that's usually not the case) and they are behind something like defederations. I didn't see many unjustified defederation and block attempts so far tho, Lemmy.world fucked up with the piracy communities and I did view their proactive defederation from Hexbear critical but now that I know what Hexbear really spreads around the Fediverse I actually switched instance just to get rid of them so I guess they where right on that one!
Lemmy mods have a horrible and unthankful job, they get flooded with CSAM we never have to see and I didn't experience any issues with mods so far, is it possible that the issue is related to the kind of stuff you post?
There is a difference betwen cencorship and moderation and one of them is a must sve or you end up with 4chan 2.0 but in this case the decition was bad the the reasoning even worse!
That's just shitty moderation and probably a overworked mod team, not sure what drug you got your hands on but I would kind of like to try it if you have any left!

Do you use the default Android install or aomething like LineageOS, Callyx or /e/OS? I use a Oneplus 6 with LineageOS and the slowdown dose exist but it's barely noticable.
That's usually a combination of planned obsolesence and bad software, Smasung flagships for example start to significantly slow down after roughly a year of usage. These CPUs are more than enough for daily tasks like web browsing and as soon as you have a manufacturer with good software support or load something like LineageOS on the device it usually works very well again, in some cases you also need a new battery because many clock down once that looses capacity.
If they write a thread with questionable reasoning I would expect them to include the actual reason as well or skip the thread but you guys are right, I don't own a instance so I don't have a clue about those actions...
The original removal thread cited the report of a user who got banned from dbzer0 for transphobic messages and made a fresh account on lemmy.world just to report them and talked about potentially copyrighted material they don't want to store. None of that matched with the responses from dbzer0 or my own experience on that instance. The Piracy and Arnachy instance has been one of the best examples of good moderation and civil behaviour on Lemmy since they moved here.
You announced a clear reasoning publically that included a lot of questionable stuff, I am sorry if you got actual takedown requests too but I can't know those if you don't announce them. Again I won't claim that this can't cause you any trouble, just that the thread you published about blocking them wasn't great...
I am fairly sure that good parts of that post are lies, I looked quite close at the situation when it happened and from all I could find those "takedown requests" was a single troll who got banned dbzer0 for their right extreme garbage. You also made claims about unmoderated illegal material in those communities which was simply wrong but I would have understood the move if you explained it like you do here right from the start and it's great to see a mistake reversed! I am not going to pretend that this Federation while not actually illegal can't cause annoyances and it's great to see you reverse it despite that, keep it up! :)

Are you by any chance a american because unless you post in Lemmy.ml all the time I can't really imagine that from a european perspective! If you count the facists from Hexbear and Lemmingrad that you instance defederated from as left (which they really aren't by the original definition of the left/right devide) it might be but I think unless you try to spill neo liberal garbage the backlash will probably be limited tbh!
Maybe spend some of it on a good app rather than marketing and exclusive deals, well or fire your workers and hope that accident of a game store will fix itself I guess!
Wine simulates a Windows environment to some degree, Steam is the only platform that fixed the reporting issue and that wasn't always the case ether because the system tells the game it's Windows.
Reddit is driven by search traffic and the results got a lot worse since a lot of good posters quit. They lost the content but not the users yet, I think it's just going to take a long time before they truly see the damage in their traffic statistics!
