It's not a especially big surprise they are that scummy if you know their CEO (even EA let go of him because he was too greedy for them) but fuck is that another dick move, I am totally sure they didn't do it to hide upcomming changes...

That seems more like a direct competitor to Slack and MS Team to me rather than general communication. Matrix is a facinating protocol that keeps pushing the limits of federated communication but it always sucked as replacment for those and unless someone invests huge amounts of money in a completely new client I don't see taht changing any time soon tbh.

They could have predicted more success than they probably did but I don't get why your comment has so many downvotes, Larian itself prepared for 100k players at launch too, not over 800k so no one really predicted how much of a bomb this game would be!

There are two majore options, Newpipe and Libretube. To summ it up, Piped uses the Newpipe extractor which is the backend of Newpipe and Libretube uses Piped to put a server in between and mask your IP, both are great!
