  • I too have ADHD and am impatient (combined type, severe). Impatience is not an excuse for financial illiteracy. And a graduated income tax is not complicated. Deductions, credits, exceptions, etc are where it gets complicated. But if he thinks he's losing money by making more money, then he's stupid.

Reading your other responses, you're right. Not knowing something doesn't make someone stupid. Refusing to learn something when you find out you don't know it, that's what makes someone stupid. Willful ignorance is stupid.

At the very least, he should just admit he knows nothing about it and just take your word for it. Deferring to others expertise in areas you are weak is smart.

  • My brother made an interesting point. He did well with Tesla, selling EV to basically the left. Then he abruptly went full anti left, anti woke, essentially attacking his own customers. Like the amount of disconnect is unreal.

  • That guy pours over countless documents and stats to make his moves. He probably knows what he's doing more than most when it comes to predicting market turns.

I mean I feel like a recession is inevitable, but I'm just some random guy.

  • So you think that the world will collapse in such a uniform manner that it will collectively decide that something we used as currency for thousands of years will no longer be used?

I'm not saying guns, ammo, good, and water will not be worth a ton. But that's doesn't necessarily mean gold wouldn't return to being currency. Especially if the price of gold rises as the world collapses and it is used to purchase those other necessities. Like those other things are bulky. If say a gold coin can get me many gallons of water, the coin becomes valuable as a relatively easy to transport token of value. Isn't that all currency has ever been?
