  • There are legitimate scientific organizations studying UAP, such as UAPx and the Galileo Project at Harvard.

Referring to UAP and not aliens, our government has admitted to having secret government programs monitoring/studying UAP, and other nations around the world have as well, including the UK and France who've both opened their information to the public. The US is uniquely secretive, withholding, and obfuscating the subject.

If you want a rational representation of valid information, I would encourage you to read my post. Everything is cited and it contains declassified US government documents and admission of the existence of UAP and secret government programs monitoring them. Again, I'm speaking in regard to UAP (Anomalous Aerial Phenomenon) and not aliens.

  • I find it wild that people find explanation uninteresting and boring.. Like, I get that it's exciting to wonder and speculate about things, but I find getting real answers to be the most exciting. Expanding human knowledge is exciting, not boring.

  • If anyone is interested, I have posted a very detailed account of evidence supporting the existence of UAP (not aliens).

It contains admissions of their existence by the US government on multiple occasions and throughout multiple decades. I have included footage of UAP confirmed to be valid by our government, and a bunch of declassified government documents on the subject.

I don't rule out the possibility of alien existence in the universe, and I don't rule out that such entities could be responsible for the disruptive/breakthrough technology represented in UAP, but aliens and even the origin of UAP are irrelevant to whether or not the UAP themselves exist.

They do, and I have provided a tremendous amount of evidence supporting this from a rational and skeptical perspective.

And since the topic is being mislabeled as crazy Republicans, I'd like to point out I'm left-leaning and I've also included quotes and documentation of Democrats' support of the topic, including Chuck Schumer and AOC. The truth is there is essentially unanimous support from the right and left in drafting UAP-related legislation. This is not a crazy conspiracy theory. It's not like the anti-vaxxer lunacy. It is reality.

  • There's a glitch that happens sometimes when uploading photos to lemmy (and other sites) where the photo orientation is messed up. It's actually an issue with the photo itself. You can fix it by cropping even just a sliver out of the photo. Then the orientation will be correct when you upload.

  • You can also have them supervised outside or on a leash. You're presenting this as a false choice between two options: keep them locked up forever, or let them roam unsupervised.

There are ways to be a responsible cat owner. Letting them decimate local birds, reptiles and small mamals is irresponsible.

Also, allowing pets to wonder and be hit by cars is very irresponsible pet ownership as well. I get so pissed off at whoever the guardian was any time I see a cat or dog hit on the side of the road (happens too often around here). If someone let's their animal wonder freely and it's struck/lost/killed, the pet's guardian is fully responsible.

"My cat/dog knows better.." Yeah, until they don't and they're dead....

  • Cats are an invasive species in much of the world. They've driven species of birds, mamals, and reptiles to extinction, and many more to the brink.

If someone let's their cats run loose outside, they are an irresponsible pet owner. Not to mention the risk of the cat(s) being hit by a car or mauled by a dog or something. Bonus irresponsibility if one let's non-spayed/neutered cats roam free and lead to more invasive strays.

Cats are very effective and sadistic predators who kill for fun. Keep them contained and instead of contributing to a the decimation of birds and small wildlife in your area. (Meaning the universal you btw, not directing this at you personally!)

  • Absolutely love it! And so quotable!

I emulated it after seeing it as a kid in a revenge-prank business at school (worst thing I did was put fire ants in a kid's desk to get back for bullying).

Years back, as soon as the CEO business came out in GTA online, I immediately claimed "Dirty Work Inc." as my business name!

Definitely one of my favorite movies.

  • You shouldn't state quantum immortality theory as fact. It's not like the theory of gravity where we have a pretty solid understanding with overwhelming empirical observations. It's just wild speculation and thought experiment. It's philosophical; not scientific.

Brain death/loss of consciousness is not binary; it's a progressive loss of cognitive faculties. Here is a decent write-up debunking quantum immortality. (PDF warning).

Quantum immortality is just the new Mandela effect in pop culture.

  • With the nature of the recent attacks I think it makes perfect sense to take strong precautions necessary to protect the community. Can always refederate when/if the admin gets ahold of the situation.

  • After months of planning, which included the removal of Kuzminov's parents from Russia to Ukraine, he finally made his move in August, flying the helicopter at a low altitude in radio silence mode across the border and into Ukrainian territory.

Was happy to read about his family getting out first. Always worry about that with russia, china, and north korea.
