  • They killed him after he uploaded a geotagged photo on social media. Hard not to be highly suspicious of it being deliberate...

That happened days after BBC journalists were pulled from their van (clearly marked press), and assaulted even after displaying their IDs to IDF. (Source) There's been so many other instances going back for years. It's blatant..

  • That's totally not the point. I'm questioning if it's newsworthy and this community tends to be more for serious news.

There's just more appropriate communities, like !nottheonion@lemmy.world, for example.

I took a dump after coffee this morning. I'm not an astronaut, so that happened in the world. Does that mean it's newsworthy and should be reported on and posted in this community? (I'm insinuating this is more of a shitpost, if that's not clear.)

  • I'm too lazy to try to find a citation for your claim about our morals guiding how we interpret religious canons (not vice-versa), but this was taught to me in multiple philosophy courses and is well-established.

Our morality is developed thru our upbringing and exposure, including being influenced by parents, teachers, peers, media, culture, etc. We then pick and choose passages from canons based on our pre-established moral beliefs.

  • He says: "Yesterday Sam flew the plane and said that just 8 people were sitting in the trench, just 8 khohols [Ukrainains], f*ck! And our men go there by the hundreds, and they are not even capable of taking a f**king thing!"

Ukrainians are a force to be reckoned with when they dig in.. I will never forget how long the Cyborgs lasted at Donetsk Airport. The Cyborgs' nickname was coined by russians trying to cope with how disproportionate their losses were against dug-in Ukrainains with small arms.

    Ukrainains are tough as hell.

  • First of all, it's sad this distinction has to be made, but valid criticism of Isreal is not antisemitism.

What I have seen on lemmy.world is that the comments vocalizing support of Isreal's genocide or Hamas' terrorism are downvoted significantly, and that most users here condemn the actions of both Isreal and Hamas, and support the innocent civilians on both sides.

I am happy with that balanced stance.

  • Do you even realize that you failed to refute my entire argument? You just wrote a long Red Herring.

Everything you said here is 100% irrelevant to the fact that your logic used to justify the genocide of Palestinians is the same logic used to justify the terror attacks on Isreali citizens.

    That was my argument.

Logic doesn't care what your feelings are or what international laws dictate. Your argumemt's framework used to justify Isreal's genocide can be flipped and used in the very same way to justify Hamas' actions. I've already demonstrated that above.

I could argue against your other points here, but that's not necessary when you're breaking the sacred law of non-contradiction. You're argument can't be true for Israel and false for Hamas. Your argument is invalid.

No matter what new claims you stake, it won't change the fact that the core of your argument is invalid. You don't keep adding onto a compromised foundation; you rebuild.

  • Responses like these that so confidently state obviously incorrect information/poor perspectives really remind me of answers generated by AI. Things that appear syntactically correct, but at the same time are bizarrely illogical.
