Palworld did more for the monster-collecting genre in one early access title than Pokémon has in the last decade of AAA titles.
Why does Nintendo deserve these patents when they aren't going to produce anything meaningful with them and simply weaponize them to squash any real threatening competition?
Pokémon is the highest grossing franchise in the world, and 2nd place isn't even close. I think they can give a little ground to an indie developer who makes games that people are actually interested in playing. The patent bullshit is ridiculous.
I know it's going to suck for a lot of people, but I hope that nobody buckles under Trump's trade war pressure. Let the shitty Trump tariffs be the torch that lights the funeral pyre that is the husk of what used to be the United States.
Trump is just a symptom. He could get drone-bombed tomorrow and nothing would change. The people who were complicit in him regaining power must be severely punished, or else they will simply fall in lockstep with the next Republican stooge, and the only way to properly punish them is to inflict the maximum amount of suffering directly to them. Economic suffering is the bloodless route, and one that will be very effective in breaking the spell of propaganda.
It's entirely avoidable, if only Trump would have actually learned something from his first term and actually funded research and prevention teams. Sadly, he only has the foresight to see how cutting those programs saves the US Govt. a penny now, and not the wisdom to see how that panny would have been money well spent if it prevented us from having to spend thousands on recovery efforts.
This implies that the bar has nowhere to go but down, except that we know good Star Wars is capable of being produced. Andor is fucking phenomenal, hands down the best thing to have ever been spit out by Disney since they acquired the IP. It's not a sure bet that time will erase the stains that the sequel trilogy have created on the Star Wars brand. The prequel trilogy may not be perfect, but it felt more like Star Wars than the sequel trilogy ever did.
Trump administration offers tribute to mighty Poseidon thanking him for fair winds, calm seas and big water. The President was quoted as saying:
"This is the greatest tribute in the history of tributes, not even Odysseus could have offered what we offered. Tremendous. We're gonna make America's oceans and seas and yes, even the beautiful Gulf of America Great Again. This F-18 is the first step in improving relations with Poseidon. Great guy, in fact. Not many people see it because of all the drownings and shipwrecks but behind closed doors he's a very different person and he runs a tight ship, the ocean is respected and we need to start taking notes from him. Joe Biden didn't normalize relationships with Atlantis, but I did. Sleepy Joe and Kamala couldn't do it but I am the first President in 227 years to even get a meeting."
Everybody on the right "likes what Trump is doing" or "Likes what DOGE is doing", but when you ask them to articulate, specifically, what actions or policies they like, they will generalize to something the administration has claimed without evidence to be true but is difficult to prove or disprove ("He's making the border safer", "He's getting rid of taxpayer waste", etc.) or they will retreat from the question by attacking you personally or just saying that the vibes are generally better ("The tariffs will fix the economy", "America is respected again", etc.).
I've never once had a debate with a Republican who came prepared with sources to back up their claims. That's because as soon as they try to dig and find evidence of the insane stuff Trump and Musk are peddling, the lie unravels itself and it just becomes easier to accept things at face value rather than think critically.
Quick, someone use that same templating and do Trumps 34x felonies. Plaster a bunch of them up in the same area where the ones on the WH lawn can be seen. Bet they'll get taken down real quick.
There's a sensitivity setting that can be adjusted. At first most stores were set to +/- 1oz, so even legitimate items that have varying packing weights could set it off. My local stores have adjusted it so that you really have to put something heavy on there to trigger that alert. They also don't seem to care if you take stuff off the scale anymore, which is nice because it's never large enough even if you have an item limit.
I was being a bit facetious, but yeah. It's a pretty transparent ploy to get the birth rate up for as little money as possible. God forbid line doesn't go up always and forever, for all eternity.
Important Note: For perpetuating school shootings, not stopping them. Absolutely not for stopping them. Unless we're talking about the shooter taking themselves out when they're done.
I'm still baffled as to how they continue to do this unimpeded.
These people are in court trying to enter the country "the right way" by going through the legal system and are getting ambushed by ICE and Homeland Security during their hearings. Unless the desired outcome is to depress the population of "good ones" trying to stay in the country via legal means by scaring them with the threat of sudden deportation, I don't see what this accomplishes. This war on immigration is equally as stupid and futile as the war on drugs.
Xenophobia has completely fried the brains of most Americans. This shit isn't normal and never should be.
Trump didn't pay them, the American public did with the tariff revenue. He has absolutely no qualms spending other people's money on stupid shit, especially if it makes him look good in their eyes. He would never directly pay for anybody's relief.
It's not why, but when. He already did this during his first term, the first time he started a trade war with China (which he lost).
He didn't bail out the farmers because he actually cares about them, but because there was an election in 2020 that he was trying to win and needed their support.
Remains to be seen if he will bother to help them again this time. He's talking about a 3rd term and other frightening shit, but his second term has been moving so fast that I'd like to think he doesn't care about what the public thinks anymore, he just wants to extract as much value of of the position as possible.
They are professional victims, even when they have control over all three branches of government.
