The news site is reposting an Article written by Agence France Presse which the French government owns 20% of. (And majorly subsidised). The French government like most western governments is pro-Israel biased. So I’m not too suprised by the slanted reporting.

(Yes of course the AFP claims “editorial independence”, but is any news site “independent” when the funder has the power to cut the money if it says something the funder doesn’t like).

A lot of colorblind people can tell the difference between red-green and white.

They just percieve red-green as the same.

So they lose the visual cue for front-back under the proposed change.

Social Services doesn’t treat physical disability (because most are untreatable).

Free housing for disabled people gives them a home, even if they can’t work and earn income due to disability.

Yes propublica is amazing. But I wouldn’t necessarily call them mainstream. They are mainstream amongst journalists, nerds, and leftists. But not really apart from that.

I think in the US (and english speaking parts of Canada) they have a weird conception that “North America” doesn’t include “Central America”.

But the rest of the world seems to agree that: North America = Central America + US, Canada, Mexico

and South America = Anything south of Panama on the American continent

But that has direct ties to the US government. (And as we’ve seen under Trump), those ties can be abused.

So I agree they are good services. But IMO they still have dodgy ties.

While I sort of agree. I’m just gonna say, you ain’t gonna find anything mainstream western media that doesn’t have major ties to unethical corpos unless you basically force yourself to only use AP and the Guardian (and even then, pretty sure they still have dodgy ties, just it’s not as visible since no direct “ownership”.)

Switzerland. I’m using not a VPN per say but a proxy yeah. But it’s a really common one. The built in apple proxy using Apple servers.
