  • Cops have been able to track people down with just unique shirts bought online. If they can track the shirt down, they can get a warrant to find the card used to establish that you’re indeed the suspect. “I don’t do bad thing” is a pointless argument, because like cops say, anything can be used against you.

  • I wouldn’t mind using cash, but I also don’t want to keep a bunch of money lying around my house aside emergency funds. I also don’t want to drive all the way to a bank branch or some ATM in a sketchy part of town in the middle of the night to buy something

Credit cards have also made it too easy for entire countries to rack up life ruining debt. It’s the point, I suppose.

I suppose the ultimate compromise is: use a credit card to withdraw cash (many companies allow this), and use that cash for private purchases. Though I’m not sure how chargebacks work with withdrawn cash.

  • China has waited centuries to get Hong Kong back and decades for Taiwan. What’s another 10 years? Why would they do some reckless shit like invasion when they’re still in the process of courting neighbors? All the superpowers are observing this war right now to see each other’s abilities, and the war hasn’t been finished yet. There’s no material benefit to invading anyone right now

  • Lol, I highly doubt china will be desperate enough to use consumer level drones and scopes to take over Taiwan given how many soldiers they have with real military equipment.

But even if they are desperate, what makes you think they won’t just seize the factories and pump out 20x the number being shipped to Russia and Ukraine, and the rest of the world? Not to mention, I don’t think China is dumb enough to go to war while Russia is busy at a completely different war, so I really don’t think a couple thousand shitty drones will make a difference 5-10 years from now

  • Lol, if the tide of war is changed into Russia’s favor because of alibaba tier drones while Ukraine has western equipment entirely designed as weapons from the start, then the problem is a lot deeper than china supporting Russia’s invasion

  • Ukrainians also get shipped Chinese consumer drones to configure into weapons and Holosuns, so I think it evens out

Telegraph: “One Chinese company sent 1,000 drones to Russia in the two months before the war, according to figures compiled by Molfar Global, an open source research organisation. That firm, Shantou Honghu Plastics, describes itself as a wholesaler of children’s toys on its website and social media profiles.”

"The Ukrainians, and the Russians too, have figured out ways to modify these devices they've purchased online to make more and more creative ways to drop explosives from these small consumer drones,"

Telegraph: “Chinese firms have also sent optical sights to more than 50 Russian companies from the start of 2022 through the first quarter of this year. Imports of these products nearly doubled to $2.5 million last year, compared to the one prior.”

https://news.yahoo.com/budget-optics-becoming-combat-proven-212202739.html (it’s yahoo citing Reddit sources and just doing trust me bro, but if Ukraine bought Chinese drones, buying Holosuns isn’t exactly hard to believe)

More informative source: https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2018/07/25/holosun-optics-on-ukranian-aks/ (lol, a crowdfunding project funding a country’s military is sad, and the fact they could only upgrade 30 guns is even more sad. In 2014 too during the coup)

However, large numbers of Holosun optics have been fielded during the defense of Ukraine. During the war, they have been seen on AK-style rifles, AR-style rifles and even machine guns. While the battlefield performance of the optics is difficult to verify, Ukrainian troops continue to field them. Even bodyguards for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy have been seen using Holosun optics. Outside of Ukraine, the Estonian Defence Forces use Holosun optics on their LMT R-20 assault rifles.

  • I don’t believe I am underestimating. Im just saying that in the west, there is a higher chance (relative to third world countries) that you can decide to become a sex worker on your own volition. Obviously there are still pimps and poverty driving the scene, but you’re likely never going to find someone in say, Vietnam or Thailand, or who just got tired of office work and decided to become a pornstar or escort.

  • If you’re paying for sex in the west, then my opinions are more nuanced and less harsh since, economically speaking, workers here are generally in a better position to choose their profession, including sex work, without any coercion other than the standard coercion of capitalism.

However, if you’re a sexpat traveling to developing and underdeveloped countries, you deserve to be thrown into the pit. Sex workers here are more likely to be poorer, desperate, pimped out, and/or trafficked by the mafia. Not to mention many are underage. There is no choice for 99% of the sex workers, or any workers. I don’t care if the age of consent there is 12, you’re still going to into the pit.

  • Somehow, capitalists are unable to be satisfied with profit generated from millions of people being able to move to many cities and consume products in a few hours. There is no long term vision

  • That’s because there are too many regulations. Once we rid of all them, corporations will have the freedom to invest better and let profits trickle down. Right now they have no choice but to feed us saw dust and charge us a 500% premium for electricity. Their hands are tied

  • Reminds me when Europe still got energy from Russia. They offered Europe a fixed price contract, but Europe insisting on letting the free market decide. So when the prices skyrocketed (I believe due to the invasion), Europe demanded Russia lower the price, but they couldn’t because they already signed a contract lol. Belarus didn’t suffer from the increased prices because they agreed to a fixed price contract for energy.

  • I think we should go back to the old school election system. Only white men with land ownership can vote, and also white men with land ownership can be elected, so Ramaswamy is no longer allowed to run. I’m sure his party will support that, so he should too
