  • It still might be worth trying another DE/WM for a bit to see if the issue is KDE exclusive. It might help you narrow down the cause.

  • Probably not it, but what DE/WM are you using? I had a very similar issue on KDE, but it would go away if I switched DEs.

  • You won't see much about protests until we're closer to the next election.

  • Honestly, the best part of the OLED model is that it gets at least 2.5 hours of battery life on the more demanding games. The LCD Deck's 1.5 hours minimum just isn't enough time in my opinion.

  • I know SDHQ has a pretty large recommended sale list.

It's not focused on indie games, but it does include a decent number of them thanks to how many games it includes.

  • It works on Linux which already a step in the right direction imo

  • Fantastic game, glad it's finally getting updated and getting the cliffhanger ending resolved.

That said, the original XBX still looks extremely good (at least when emulated at modern resolutions). For an HD remaster I haven't actually noticed any real visual improvements other than the character models being better.

  • If you agree that morals are relative and culturally constructed, then you shouldn't reject differences in morals of others as immoral.

That's basically just taking a position where you want to be able to change your mind on what's "moral", and expect everyone else to follow your opinion on it.

  • I wasn't sure from the title if it was "Nearly half of U.S. adults believe LLMs are smarter than [the US adults] are." or "Nearly half of U.S. adults believe LLMs are smarter than [the LLMs actually] are." It's the former, although you could probably argue the latter is true too.

Either way, I'm not surprised that people rate LLMs intelligence highly. They obviously have limited scope in what they can do, and hallucinating false info is a serious issue, but you can ask them a lot of questions that your typical person couldn't answer and get a decent answer. I feel like they're generally good at meeting what people's expectations are of a "smart person", even if they have major shortcomings in other areas.

  • Check the discover store on the deck, there's a program called "clicker" and another called "xclicker", either one sounds like it should do what you're wanting.

  • He did mention it was for desktop mode, which would mean he's specifically trying to do this on the Steam Deck.

  • Huh yeah that's weird, I didn't know that either.

  • In addition to fixing Firefox, you may need to change the URL to tv.youtube.com

I don't have YouTube TV anymore, but YouTube.com/tv now redirects me to standard YouTube, while tv.youtube.com takes me to the TV web app.

  • Yes, that would be it. It was very recently verified too, which is probably why it was selected as the thumbnail.

  • Yeah, I want more details on that. Originally Bluetooth to wake only worked for BLE devices on the OLED as far as I know. Controllers like the steam controller had to have a ble firmware update before they could wake it.

However recently I've had my OLED deck (on beta steam OS) get woken up by my stadia controllers, which aren't BLE and previously couldn't wake the deck. I haven't tested it well, but it doesn't seem consistent.

Now they're saying non BLE devices can wake the LCD deck, so I'm assuming that means they're going to work for waking the OLED deck as well?

Edit: did some testing, and I seems like all my stadia controllers will now consistently wake up my OLED deck. A big improvement for me personally.

  • I will warn you that sometimes epic/gog games won't work without some manual troubleshooting. You sometimes have to install windows components like .net and various dll files. Heroic and Junk store let you use winetricks to install these easily, but it can be tricky to figure out what components you're actually missing.

Heroic recently added in UMU support which is making a database of these needed components, and will automatically install them as needed. Eventually that project hopes to make Heroic/Junk/etc as smooth of an experience as playing the same games through steam, but for right now it can be hit or miss if a game will "just work" or not.

  • Yeah, I have a pretty good list of Sony games I'm just waiting on better sales on.

Like the first Spiderman should really be selling for cheaper now that both Miles and 2 are out.

  • Have you installed anything else on your deck already in desktop mode, like Decky loader, emudeck, cryoutilities/etc?

Some of those have an option to set a default password to something like "deck". If you clicked through the setup on those it might have set a password without you realizing.

edit: Decky loader can temporarily set the password to "Decky!". It's supposed to remove the temp password after installation, but that's worth trying if you installed Decky. Right now I don't see a default password for emudeck or cryoutilities, but it's possible other deck install scripts might set one.

  • I had been assuming it was a linux specific bug, but looking it up it affects windows and linux users of the GoG version. It's pretty wild that they let a major bug like this go unfixed for years when it affects everyone.
