  • For safety sake I'm going to wait to read the second half of your comment until I understand what the ::: spoiler Spoiler angels ::: are for.

As for the wrench, every time I've gotten it, it was ::: spoiler Spoiler in the outside tool shed. :::

  • I think another studio was handling a lot of it, so it may be less jank than a typical Bethesda game.

  • That's unfortunate, sorry to hear about your deck.

The game was a bit of a slow burn at first for me, but the more I've played the more I've gotten hooked by it. Now it's all I've thought about for days.

  • I can confirm I was able to watch 3 different videos in the Rumpus room over the past few days.

  • All the videos have worked for me on my OLED deck afaik, and recent patches mentioned fixing videos.

  • Japan in general has weird copyright/patent laws. For example the whole palworld patent lawsuits.

Good news is it probably won't affect people outside of Japan, except that it will stunt games/etc made in Japan.

  • The first two yes, but is she actually a fascist? Outside of her being a terf I think the rest of her political views are supposed to be pretty left leaning and anti-authoritarian.

Regardless I think enough other people were more directly involved in this game that people should be free to play it guilt free if they want to.

  • There were hundreds of people who worked on the game, and the game itself went out of it's way to feature trans characters. I doubt there's a single AAA game or mass produced product out there that isn't partially owned by some individual who you don't want to support, so I think singling out hogwarts legacy in particular to boycott is kind of meaningless.

You could argue that by boycotting it you're sending a message, and just singling it out as an example, but the game already sold incredibly well and is a huge success. I don't think there's any reason at this point that someone who grew up enjoying harry potter and wants to play the game should feel bad about it. Seems silly to deny yourself something you might enjoy over some small change going to a billionaire you don't like.

  • Needs to be an official lemmy theme.

  • Looks like almost all of this update is focused on improving support for other handheld devices.

  • Someone very recently was complaining about ubisoft not working on their deck, so ubisoft may have changed something.

Not an ideal solution, but if you have a working install for it you may be able to copy your prefix folder for the game to her deck.

Alternatively you might be able to install and get her set up on a windows PC, then copy the install folder from that. This will be trickier though since you'll need to probably copy install and config folders for both the game and ubisoft connect I'm guessing.

  • Great writeup as always!

The Project Hailstorm link isn't working for me, it's showing an app ID of 338 instead of 3388760 so I'm guessing it got cut off. It's an interesting looking game though, I'll be sure to check it out.

Currently I'm playing 1000xResist, and it's absolutely hooked me. I'm a sucker for games that that jump back and forth in time, showing me a very different future and a relatable past, leaving me to puzzle about what happened to cause the changes. Interesting world building or large scale mysteries like that tend to grab my interest much faster than character/story drama, so I really appreciate when a game hooks me that way as they set up everything else.

  • Been having a blast with Make Way lately, it's a top down racer where you start each round by building new sections of the track and adding traps to it. It's really chaotic and fun, and supports up to 6 local or online players

  • I'm not sure, one proton db review mentions they can usually hit 40fps on high graphics, which sounds decent.

  • Clicking on the beta link should download a EmuDeck-beta.desktop file that can be run on the deck to install it. The download is working for me, but you might have to right click on the link and hit "save link as" if it doesn't download normally.

  • Make sure you're logged in, it will always show out of stock if your logged out.
