It's just PR to protect themselves, not about actually doing fuck all about what just transpired. Many people like this show such cowardice to make a difference.
Here's why. Does anyone even know what the paralympics even is? Looking from the comments below, I sincerely doubt they do.
The paralympics is basically "The Paralympic Games or Paralympics, also known as the Games of the Paralympiad, is a periodic series of international multisport events involving athletes with a range of disabilities."
So do you know what this is exactly saying? This is saying that Transgenderism is a disability. That is giving more ammo to all of the bigots out there who've been crying about how Transgenderism is just a choice and that it's all wrong .etc
I cannot say that I'm fully in support of this. I would've been more proud if a Transgender individual made it to the Olympics and was breaking ground for their group. But no, this is them being in the backburners of society for pity points.
I remember following this story for like a few years before I trailed off. This is absolutely fucking ridiculous. This was all orchestrated by the MAFIAA in an attempt to again make an example out of someone, because it wasn't too long after or so, that they managed to penalize and jail some of the original Pirate Bay founders. All of which were long not involved with the Pirate Bay but just because they've been associated with such a symbol that has continually and still continues to trounce the efforts of the copyright regime, had to go and make examples of them.
So here we are now with Dotcom and it feels exactly the same here. Gotta make an example of them because of the years long process of the butt-hurt executives in the copyright regime, crying crocodile tears about superfluous lost "millions" that they still to this day continue to keep vague, just to gain some clout.
Yeah but you can still get sued, taken to court and will be in a world of financial hurt so bad that you mind as well have served some time in exchange.
Now what would be more interesting is if every taxpayer in America stopped collectively paying taxes to the IRS. That'd be some interesting shit. Can't jail millions of people.
These people are some of the people I've no sympathy in bitching at. They're my favorite punching bags.
No, people, don't feel sorry for these scammers. They CHOSE to do this. Instead of wanting to aim to better their lives or better their country, they chose to go out and do everything they can to scam people out of money.
So yes, I happily scream and mess with these pricks any chance I get. They have no remorse in what they do.
Oh yeah, like how everyone had a freaking Ted Talk so they can tell us the most blatant, obvious and sugar-coated advice in how to live or what to be inspired by? Yeah that shit was jarringly annoying. There was a reason the whole "Welcome to my Ted Talk" was a thing, it was because of that.
A life trend that always bothered me, was when people had a limited amount of fucks to give about certain things. Like it was all based on how reported it was. The Hong Kong protests for example, used to have been huge but it lost traction like after a month simply because reports slowed down. Reports slowed down, people stopped giving a fuck and they moved on. And what happened? Hong Kong went up in smoke because we turned our backs toward it.
Panama Papers, the moment where we were close to bursting out all of the secret dealings that rich people and corporations did with their wealth. Yeah, same deal, stopped being reported as much, people stopped giving a fuck.
Like people were treating these big moments like outrage flavor of the week.
First off, so few models of Chromebooks even allow you to bother sideloading or outright install a Linux distro over ChromeOS. Eventually, Google cut that stuff out so now almost every Chromebook now won't allow you to do that without going through some Developer Mode loop that makes you think you'll get by.
Secondly, Chromebooks are just e-waste. That's their design. They're only made to be online-only "laptops" with just an expiration date attached to them, that date being how long Google wants to bother supporting it with security updates provided something doesn't break down first within the first two years.
Thinkpads have more longevity, they're built well and they're meant to go the distance. Chromebooks has been and will continue to be a joke.
For the longest time, I've relied on DDL sites, blogspot sites with lots of links and Uloz. Since many of them have become rather tedious to use or just outright suck, I now use MP3Caprice. Yeah I know, some money is involved so you're paying people to pirate for you. But on the flipside, everything is relatively dirt cheap (except soundtracks and compilations, they like those enough to charge more).
Catching any pirate comes down to just how gullible and not savvy they are when it comes to pirating. All of these people asking what the best VPN to use is, asking so many questions are probably the kind of people most likely to get caught at the end.
Lemme tell you the amount of plaza chains and stuff that are built around and near big-box stores. Do you just live in a town where it's just one big box store? Please...
