  • I feel like this is Sargeant feeling the talent gap between himself and his colleagues, not some larger problem between F1/F2.

If you look at someone like Oscar, a former F3 teammate of Logan's, his performance relative to his F1 teammate is a night and day difference. I suppose you could argue that Oscar had a year in the sim with Alpine to help get him ready but in my opinion it's just the gap in skill/natural talent between someone like Oscar and someone like Logan.

Drivers, commentators, and fans alike notice the extra capacity people like Max, Fernando, Carlos, etc seem to have inside the cockpit, but I haven't seen that from Logan. I don't think he's a bad driver or anything, but his complaints aren't unique to his situation either and other drivers have found ways to cope.

I think most people agree that all the drivers and especially the rookies could use more practice time than they're getting, and of course the feeder series cars could always be closer spec to the main series. These problems aren't new or unique to Logan, it's just part of the incredibly difficult career that F1 drivers live with.

I don't have any ill will towards Logan and I hope he finds greater success next season, but I also don't see him becoming a champion or even a race winner unless he settles down in the car and stops making silly mistakes.

  • I will happily trade a year of the Max Verstappen Podcast for a year of the Lando/Oscar Podcast.

It's refreshing to see genuine optimism and progress at McLaren. Maybe this year they'll start the season with a quick car and a good understanding of it instead of figuring out they've fucked it in testing.

  • I've been meaning to ask this elsewhere but I guess I can piggyback off this post-

What tool(s) are available for deleting/removing your post history? I've seen mention that some didn't delete their posts but had a bot or something replace the text in them with some text about leaving for Lemmy, and I'd like to do something like that myself.

  • One thing I've wondered about is if the police that were part of the maga following have come to their senses AT ALL after having hundreds/thousands of people threaten them, beat them, etc when they were supposed to be "on the same side" during the January 6th nonsense.

So much of that uprising, protest, whatever you think it should be called, would've normally been squashed before people ever made it to the capital building if the police would've responded in a similar fashion to the many much smaller protests that came before it.

  • The US government doesn't care when its own citizens are being killed, why would they suddenly spring to action when Ukrainian citizens are being killed?

Maybe Ukrainians should start wearing kippah so Congress gets confused and sends them money and weapons.

    /s but actually /exorcistvomit

  • The US is already fractured and much closer to a civil uprising and maybe a civil war than most people want to admit. Mass shootings that are often politically motivated happen nearly daily, as close to a non functioning Congress as you could get, and apparently anyone can say anything and claim they are correct regardless of facts.

Extremism has been ramping up for years, there's nothing sudden about it. Welcome to 'Who's Country Is It Anyway?' where everything's made up and the points don't matter.
