  • Uhh.. Why is that?

Are you saying in a vacuum those ideas are the most palatable or something? Because that’s what it sounds like

I really worry about the future when people just throw their hands up in the air and say “well, fuck it, either we become totalitarians or we let nazis take over”. That’s not much of a choice

  • I agree

Also funny is how forcefully tomcats do it, like they’re trying to show off their strength and masculinity. Like “I LOVE YOU A LOT BRO”

(said tomcats I’ve had this experience with were subsequently neutered when they retired into our family home, but they kept doing the macho head bonk)

  • Lower Decks is certainly fast, loud and in-your-face funny. But what I was completely not expecting is for it to be so respectful and adoring of what came before in the franchise. I thought originally, ah yeah one of those “fast edgy animated comedies”, it surely would be derisive and treat Trek like a joke itself, but actually, no it does not. It’s a comedy set in the Trek universe, it’s not a comedy where Trek is the punchline.

  • In all likelihood the water system would probably stop working at some point, so whenever that goes plus two or three days is likely an upper bound on how long I could survive for. It’s pretty dry here so that would be a lethal problem.

If somehow it stays working, I could probably survive for a few months… basically until society and the supply chains completely break down and stop functioning followed by a period of mass starvation
