I have chatted with a mate in reddit chat (or messages, idk) in german.
To agree I typed "jap" meaning "ja", so "yes". Ja/Jap is the same as no/nope in english.
30 seconds later I was banned from this chat for a week because of being "racist".
Turns out that "Jap" was a derogatory term for japanese people...
My mate hasnt even reported the message (obvously) but reddit banned me because of aggreeing in a 1to1 chat...
What helped me: "Rationality Rules" on youtube had a video series (and even a tabletop game) about types of logical fallacies with the focus on religious apologetics.
And as you said: Upvotecount show whose opinion/argument is popular with the viewership. There can be a correlation with how sound the argument is logically.
After I scrolled past it once I dont want to see it again. Ideally I dont need to click anything on a post I am not interested in, not even a "mark as read" button.
Greetings from Winterthur, a pretty nice, human-friendly, town in Switzerland which bunch of old buildings. Also called the bike-city of switzerland.
It turns out that the trade off is worth it. I rather have power lines than cars or fuel powered busses.
Thinking about buying a Zenphone. What is "sw support"?
