  • I have chatted with a mate in reddit chat (or messages, idk) in german. To agree I typed "jap" meaning "ja", so "yes". Ja/Jap is the same as no/nope in english.

    30 seconds later I was banned from this chat for a week because of being "racist".

    Turns out that "Jap" was a derogatory term for japanese people...

    My mate hasnt even reported the message (obvously) but reddit banned me because of aggreeing in a 1to1 chat...

  • What helped me: "Rationality Rules" on youtube had a video series (and even a tabletop game) about types of logical fallacies with the focus on religious apologetics.

    And as you said: Upvotecount show whose opinion/argument is popular with the viewership. There can be a correlation with how sound the argument is logically.

  • Greetings from Winterthur, a pretty nice, human-friendly, town in Switzerland which bunch of old buildings. Also called the bike-city of switzerland. It turns out that the trade off is worth it. I rather have power lines than cars or fuel powered busses.
