  • "Be the change you want to see in the world.”

I live by the rule that I imagine everyone doing what I’m doing. If everyone doing it would make the world a worse place, then I don’t do it. Conversely, if it would make the world better, I go for it. This mindset makes even small charitable acts feel meaningful—because while my individual contribution may be minor, if everyone did that little thing too, we’d all be much better off.

  • Of all the issues we’re facing right now, this is one of the most clear-cut: he’s a murderer, and he will be convicted as one. There’s no room for ifs or buts. Even if one believes his motives were pure, there should be no doubt that this is not how political issues are solved. Violence has never been, nor should it ever be, the answer.

A world where political disagreements are resolved through assassinations is not one anyone wants to live in. It’s dangerously naive to think future acts of violence like this will only target people you consider villains. No, they’ll eventually target your heroes too - because your heroes are someone else’s villains.

  • Their description of him isn't exactly complimentary.

He has reshaped the American electorate, activating young male voters who propelled him to a decisive victory that saw him win the popular vote for the first time and turn every swing state red,” the outlet wrote. “Trump’s remarkable victory comes after he lost the 2020 election to Biden and repeatedly refused to accept the results. His 2024 win is history-making in multiple ways: he will be the oldest President in U.S. history, and he was convicted earlier this year by a New York jury of 34 counts of fraud, making him the first convicted felon to be elected President.

  • I don’t react by crying about people misconstruing my positions and then voting for someone who holds the complete opposite views out of some weird form of spite

Yeah, you don’t - but plenty of other people do. Joe Rogan and Elon Musk are perfect examples of this. You can dislike it all you want, but that doesn’t stop people from acting this way. What a party stands for doesn’t matter much if it can’t win elections. If their political approach isn’t working, doubling down is unlikely to help. Right now, what the “left” is doing isn’t winning them elections, and people are moving to the right - partly out of spite, because the left bullied them there.
