  • Billion dollars grows by 70 million passively per year. Next year you have 1,070,000,000 which grows by 74.9 million and next year by 80 million and so on. Basically the more money you have the easier it is to make more money.

Also, a billionaire doesn't have billion dollars in the bank. That's not what being a billionaire means.

  • Jotenkin vähän ihmetyttää tämä uutisointi. Se, että tummaihoinen Lucia saa aikaan rasistisia kommentteja internetissä on vähiten yllättäviä asioita mitä keksin. Joku teki jotain ja kourallinen ihmisiä viidestä miljoonasta pahoitti mielensä. Ei liene olemassa asiaa josta et löytäisi negatiivista kommentointia, kun oikein etsimällä lähtee etsimään.

  • I'm not claiming that I or the world doesn't exist. I'm just aknowledging that that is a possibility. Who knows, maybe I do live in a simulation. This however doesn't take away the fact that it feels like something to be simulated. That is the undeniable fact of my subjective experience that cannot be an illusion. Everything else is up for debate.

  • Locks, cameras etc. work on battery power just fine. Also, safe rooms are not intended for the apocalypse. It's where you hide from home intruders while you wait for the police.

  • Not really. It's not the location that's the issue for me but rather the other people there. I get uncomfortable in big crowds. Not overly so but I don't particularly enjoy it and at times it feels a bit suffocating.

  • What does it even mean to say "I own my brain"? What is this "I" that's doing the owning?

From my point of view it just seems like brain exists and that brain is having a subjective experience. The sense of self is just one of those experiences. It's not real - there's no self located within the brain. Atleast not that we know of.

  • I don't need a hammer drill a huge amount in my work so I always thought my old, corded Hilti was perfectly sufficient for the job. Well it broke beyond repair a while back which was a bummer but I then bought a cordless 18-volt Makita hammer drill and oh my.. I didn't realise what I was missing.
