There is a whole world out there and most MKBHD viewers aren't even from the US. Also, MKBHD reviews plenty of phones that aren't available in the US like the zenfones.
Gnome devs will never listen to criticism. Even if you do a MR it might get denied because it contraricts with the "Gnome way". Just use KDE and live an happy life. KDE can be easily modified to look like Gnome and have all the QOLs you need.
Use Kimovil to check bands and specs. If it's a mediatek cpu, don't buy it, it has poor custom rom support. Only buy snapdragon fabbed by TSMC. Make sure this would be a popular phone (because only popular phones get roms) by checking hype. You will have to run Xiaomi.EU as your rom for a good while then maybe after a few years you might get some better roms.
I'm sorry to say this but, your way of picking software is wrong. You should always look for the open source software first, then use proprietary software.
I wouldn't be critical of someone for using Photoshop and Premiere because there's no viable alternative for professionals in this area. But using Plex when Jellyfin exists is just wrong. I personally have a jellyfin instance, and there's nothing jellyfin can't do when compared to Plex.
Encouraging proprietary software makes them stronger and erodes our rights. Like using chrome instead of Firefox is voting for a future where remote device attestation and forced DRM is a normal thing. Do you want the corps to eradicate your free will?
With the plethora of great games getting released every month on PC, it's very hard to feel any excitment for a game that will probably release in 2027 on PC. It doesn't help that GTA Online left a sour taste, and even the single player story was only great for the first few hours then you just start doing heists for the fbi for the rest of the game. Considering we're only getting a cinematic trailer after all this wait, I'm expecting already multiple delays or cyberpunk-level of disaster at launch
I think you're being disingenuous, you perfectly understand this phenomenon but it doesn't appeal to you. Paying for pixels will always be dumb anyway.
I once left my phone non locked in my pocket once and it started typing a ton of gibberish in a serious group chat. So yep, could've been worse for you
It should be a price upfront. Instead it bakes ads into the app, ads which aren't even present on the instances. I find it a bit disrespectful towards the hosts who maintain their instances for free and only ask for donations.
