  • I know, all Stellantis too because they are grade B cars. In the end I don't know what will be the remaining brand not enshitified? Lada?

  • I'm using nala (it's on top of apt) and it's pretty enough

  • At least! Having this on screen is always ugly :

    Messenge
       r

  • When I save an image, I want the exact same binary 1:1, not a recompressed one or whatever, I want the original picture, be it jpeg/png/webp, every graphics program can open webp, nothing wrong with it.

At least if you hate webp, convert them to png, but not jpeg...

  • Wearing a visible religious symbol while working for the public sector

This has nothing to do with conservatism, it's about secularism, go to Turkey you'll see the same thing, France too, it does not come from conservatives.

  • You should try MX, it's Debian based, and they have their own repo full of .deb, up to date, never break

  • Ubuntu for sure, about every companies I worked at were using Ubuntu as main dev. And now in the new company I work for, it's WSL2 in Windows, using Ubuntu too.

Only non-Ubuntu I used in companies was CentOS.

So pretty sure Ubuntu is the most popular/used.

  • lol same, around 2018 IIRC, I was tired of Mint/Cinnamon, I wanted something simple, check DW, download MX, never looked back.

  • Low key quiet I guess, I used Linux with various distro, Ubuntu from maybe 2010-2014, Mint Cinnamon 2014-2018, then since 2018, MX, I don't rant about it because it just works, simple, efficient, Xfce, no snap/flat. I have a simple desktop with a taskbar à la Windows XP, meaning a menu button, window buttons, and the icon/hour. My latest install was LUKS+btrfs, it went like butter.

Everything works, is up to date, never break.

  • It's a well known trick in QC to not buy a car from Ontario from sketchy dealers, as those scummy dealers will back the odometer, and there is no way to know it.

  • Not a lot you can do, install multiple tracking system like Tag, then one of your own (aliexpress has cheap GPS tracer, you need to put a sim card in it with a 10$ SMS plan or something), an apple tag, a kill switch well hidden, and a club steering wheel lock, you can also put a OBD2 secured cap to annoy thieves a few minutes more.

But if your car is a truck or RAV4 or Tacoma or Tahoe etc, it will be stolen, if you are lucky they will find it before it goes in Montreal port and you will get it back, then after 3 or 4 times your insurer will drop you, or thieves will successfully steal it.

Police/Government do about nothing, a car is stolen every 5 minutes.

  • I saw some middle class people crying because for their retreat they are selling their plex 1 million and will only have 972'000$ because of the new tax and their retreat is fucked up and their world is crumbling...

  • I'm using nala for some time now, it is pretty 😀 (it is a frontend for apt, with colours, history, undo, etc)

  • I have a 5600H (not exactly the same as regular 5600) with 32GB of 3200MHz RAM, running Linux for ~18 months, no problem with it, stable, suspend/resume always works, etc

  • Absolutely, it's almost impossible to buy a house. How can people have a 6k/month mortgage is beyond me
