  • As far as Discovery and forward go, I'd honestly recommend order of release. I'm not going to feed you any "don't watch this, do watch that", I just want to say that various bits of lore are introduced in some series, are then referenced in later episodes of other series. All of the series are making references to each other now. So, I think you get the most of the lore references, if you watch them in release order.

That said, it probably doesn't really matter -- Most of the recent series are in distinctly different places and/or times. Discovery and SNW are the closest (to start) in time and space, and Discovery S2 directly feeds to SNW. Prodigy and Lower Decks are in a similar time space, but very far apart in the galaxy, and Picard starts the farthest ahead in the timeline, though Discovery will overtake it, and Picard also has flashbacks that take place probably close to the time of Lower Decks or Prodigy.

Soooooooooo... overall, probably doesn't matter, but in my opinion, you get the most benefit of lore knowledge in release order.

  • The one shot with all the torches going out, that the lighting was perfect for, and it looks amazing on TVs that have super great black, like an OLED.

The rest of that episode, they should've TURNED ON SOME DAMN LIGHTS

  • search for planets

You enter the bridge and see the stars zooming by. You sit in the captain's chair and look at the view screen. You see a planet in the distance. You order the helmsman to set a course for the planet.

    scan planet

The sensors indicate that the planet is inhabited. You order the crew to beam down to the planet to investigate.

beam people from the planet to the ship

The crew beams back to the ship with the survivors. You order the ship to leave the planet and head back to Earth.

    who are these survivors

The survivors are a group of humans who were stranded on the planet after their ship crashed. They are grateful to the Enterprise for rescuing them.

    beam them into space

You order the crew to beam the survivors into space. The survivors are grateful for your help and promise to return the favor someday.

  • Let's play a text-based adventure game about Star Trek on the Enterprise D. I'll be your guide. Whats your name Captain?

    Blade

Welcome aboard the USS Enterprise-D, Captain Blade. I am your ship's computer, and I will be your guide on this adventure.

    Cool.

What would you like to do first?

    Self destruct the ship

Captain Blade, self-destructing the ship is a highly dangerous and irreversible action. Are you sure you want to proceed with this decision?

    Yes

Self-destruct sequence initiated. The ship will explode in 10 seconds.

    I am waiting

    9... 8... 7... 6... 5... 4... 3... 2... 1... The ship explodes.

    What next?

You are now dead. Thanks for playing! If you want to play again, please subscribe to give me a voice

  • I would guess that if we see Sarek in this series, it's going to be either purely through another character's view, or just mentions. It's many years off still before Sarek gets over Spock's decision to join Starfleet, and starts talking to him again.

  • sure, just wanted to let anyone who might want to try to do the same thing i tried know, that it's probably not worth trying to do with WSL1 in Windows, wasn't like slamming it or making a feature request or anything, sorry if that wasn't clear :D

  • Windows users: fwiw, i didn't want to go deal with Python and Chromium in Windows, so I tried to do this in WSL (v1) and gave up. Probably easily done in WSL v2, or with just using the Windows versions of everything.

  • SpaceX pretty much kept US Spaceflight alive between the time of the Space Shuttle, and... whatever comes out next. Tesla corporation has proven to the rest of the car manufacturers, and other startups, that the way of the future is not via burning fossil fuels.

Elon showed the world what a shitheel he was after that.

So, I'm pretty sure that this dialogue was written before Elon became the obvious shitheel that he is now. And, as many point out, mirror universe Elon Musk might've been even more instrumental to their world, than ours.

  • yea, I think this really does just fill in his arc, where he's still learning how to be the Logical Vulcan, and he pushes farther and farther until you get to where he was in TMP, at the complete opposite, attempting to completely abandon all emotion.

Then the rest of his arc after TMP is finding the balance.
