This is close to reasonable. But the argument politicians shouldn't be paid well is bad. If you can't earn a good income as a politician, then the only people that can be politicians are those that are already wealthy.

A working class person (or background) that can do well as a minister will struggle to put their family in the position of earning a reduced salary compared to a job in the private sector that will pay them more.

A good example of this problem is Rishi Sunak. His wife is a billionaire. He doesn't need a salary and PM. He has extended internal combustion engine sales deadline, supported the war in Gaza as soon as a Gaza permit for BP was announced and spitefully stopped the expansion of high speed rail by selling off the land purchased for it. All these actions are in direct support of BP a company his wife directly benefits from.

It would be much better if our politicians earned their income through their salary. We have a dearth of talent due to low pay and high stress roles, only those that are swindling millions out of it are willing to endure.

This has always been the case. Socrates talking about children "The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers."

I don't know about gen z, but it's probably a similar story. Millennials are better behaved, better educated, more intelligent had less teen pregnancy and less violent crime than any recorded generation before them. The kids these days aren't getting worse, the seem to be getting better.

Millennials are also more productive, especially productive relative to inflation adjusted cost. Productivity has been rising and real wages have been stagnant. Millennials make up the most productive part of the workforce right know. The prior generation are retiring and the younger are still junior/eduction.

There's limits to this. If someone's philosophy/religion says you should abuse your children then the state should intervene. We shouldn't accept parents rights to beat, bully, stone, drug, cripple, deprive them an education, deprive them of social interactions etc. Many of these things are represented in literature related to many major religions.

Your correct that military action does inflame people. But this action is trying to stop the people sponsoring the terrorist.

A better approach would be to stop sponsoring Israel's genocidal war on Palestine. This would decrease tensions and allow diplomatic options to become viable.

Israel had a cease fire, which appears to have been motivated by the US pausing delivery of weapons to Israel. As soon as the weapons were delivered they went right back at it. So the US does have considerable influence.

The people doing these attacks in Yemen claim they are trying to disrupt Israel and it's war on Gaza. Take away their moral cover and their support will weaken. They'll be seen as terrorists if they don't stop and will be politically easier to attack and politically harder to support.

They should be but in the bin. Because of the battery. In the UK many supermarkets and local authorities will dispose of them for free, so there still no excuse.

Real conservatives, not proto-fascist populists or extreme neo liberals, would want to conserve the environment because they'd be interested in keeping the tradition of clean air and growing traditional crops. We see some of this in Teal movements (green/blue).

The optimisation problems you are talking about is the process that is used to make AI models in the first place. I think you want an AI to configure optimisation routines for you rather than build the test cases and variables yourself. Or you want some system that implement all the individual components better, but an AI that can optimise the entire thing isn't coming about soon. It would need to trained on very similar software. In which case you should just use that better software.

If you don't like MATLAB your probably not the correct audience. It's for people needing to do data analysis, simulation or control and have a lot of money to pay for the libraries. The things software developers hate about it tend to be what makes it better for statistics and modelling. Math works even suggest it isn't appropriate for making software as the sell simulink coder that turns simulink models into c++ code.

Excel masters wish the downloaded an ide a just coded all those tools the have to support now.

It's turning complete, so it's should be able to do anything. Power point is also turning complete, but not practical. Excel is practical enough to get started then moving on to something better gets hard because people depend on those excel sheets.

Once your over the hump, it's a pleasure to use relative to word. Especially if your document gets large or has lots of maths in it.

The reduced feature set in the web app is either development hasn't reached parity, or they want it to be just enough to compete with Google sheets but keep people using the windows app.

A better price of software would be several different tools. But Microsoft want to keep the features set and backwards compatibility and the users don't want big changes so the messy mishmash it what results.

Excel is used as a app builder, a database, plotting tool, table formatting, dashboard, visual basic environment, simulation environment there's probably many more uses. I think it was supposed to be a calculator and accountancy book combination.

If anyone knew excel (or spreadsheets in general) would become what they did they would design it completely differently. A database that links to different pieces of software would be much better. That can't exist now, because the markets consumed by excel.

Excel does too many things. A better price of software would do less.

Yeah, this is part of the big issue with chrome being internet explorer for this generation.

Chrome forking WebKit has the dog wagging the tail. Apple need to follow chrome's web 'standards', else they break compatibility. As well as the billions Google give Apple every year, no doubts influences their implementation of safari.

But this change means Chrome can stray further from WebKit and use this change to get people using chrome on apple devices.

The best thing for the future of the web is to use Firefox and boycott websites that don't support it. If another new browser technology comes about that too would be worth supporting.

Servo is a fork of a Mozilla research project, it's moved to the Linux foundation.

They are rebuilding a web engine built for the internet today, rather than adapting the older web engines of yesterday. Mozilla already uses some of their components in Firefox.

But they are only building a web engine, for other people to turn into browsers, we views, electron alternatives etc.

A VPN might manage this. It could be a location based implementation.

Thinking about it your probably right, a sales based location is easier for apple to restrict and simpler to implement.
