  • I would immediately buy everybody everything on credit, then die.

  • There's a store in my little town that sells gift bags, ballons and teddy bears. Never seen anybody in there, never seen the window display change. Keep in mind this isn't a party store. They only seem to sell those three things. Lord knows what they REALLY sell. Maybe "teddy bears" is slang for some new drug I don't know about.

  • Has anyone noticed hotels are also giving you less towels overall? Last hotel I stayed at I got one bathtowel, one hand towel and a washcloth. Guess If I spill anything I'll just clean it with the bath mat?

  • God of War 2018. Was one of the only soundtracks I'd put on when not playing the game. Very beautiful, sometimes even haunting music.

  • Man I hope if I ever get kidapped I can just women up and punch my way out. Just Kill Bill that shit.

  • I hear Donkeys can make a mean waffle.

  • Owning livestock is not for the faint of heart. Also good quality, safe, fencing is expensive. If you have never owned any livestock before I recommend starting with some chickens.

You will need to be up every morning to feed, turn them loose, check them over, muck them out, if needed. Same thing in the evening.

Also Donkeys can be more prone to hoof injuries if you live in a very wet area. They can get hoof rot if they don't have a good area to dry out their feet.

In my area it can a hundred dollars just for the large animal vet to come out to your farm, before they even do anything. And you will have to pay for them to come out unless you have a trailer and something to haul it with.

Get sick? Too bad. If having covid sucks, it sucks even more when your lugging fifty pound feed sacks down to the barn.

I'm writing this before I go clean out my own farm animals so trust me, I know.

  • Man I thought by 2023 I'd be taking my jetpack to my moon meetings not arguing over whether we should strip mine the damn place.

  • I live very rural and just travel for work. I know a fair few poeple in my area who do the same thing. Get flown around for work, fun of travel, and then back to our cosy homes in a low cost of living area.

  • No, I do not think we will avoid catastrophic change. The ice sheets, the ocean heating, everything is moving faster than the predictions estimated. We have now entered into several severe feedback loops we have no way of stopping.

Every tech we might have to pull carbon out of the atmosphere is in it's infancy, when we needed it to be online and operational ten years ago. And we're STILL pumping greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere.

During Covid we showed that humanity can't or won't pull together to fight a commen threat. Our species will survive, but it will be difficult, and many, many poeple are going to die in mass. Huge swaths of this planet are going to become uninhabitable.

And I'm sorry. I did everything I reasonably could. Ate less meat, grow/grew my own food, wrote to legislators, tried to spread awareness, and what good did it do? Did any of it do? Not a goddamned thing.

I am going to keep doing everything I can, but I think it's over. We just don't know it yet.

(I have sources for The Deadly Feedback Loops if anyone is interested.)

  • Was Mankind okay? (I am aware this is a shitty morph reference)

  • You can put damp towels in the freezer and wear them around your neck. My AC broke in August once and I lived on the third floor.

  • This is probably going to sound mundane, but I finally got my career back on track after the plague and have enough money to take my cats to the vet for proper medical care. Feel like I've been living at vets lately, but everyone's ears are clean, teeth have been checked, bloodwork done, and has the meds they need to thrive. I felt so bad that for two years the vet was life threating visits only.

What I'm looking forward to is many more years with my wonderful pets!

  • Here's what I do, dampen a towel and put it in the freezer. Once the towel is good and cold wear it like a cape. Looks kinda stupid but you'll stay cool.

  • I've kept my birdfeeders full, put out water for them, kept many thorny bushes I'd rather remove bc the songbirds love to nest in them and I am still seeing a decline. Not in the number of total birds, but each year the diversity goes down. Less songbirds, woodpeckers and hummingbirds, more cowbirds, more blackbirds. It's alarming.

I realize this is just my backyard, but it's wierd seeing a mass extinction just...play out. Right in front of me.

  • I've been a playstation fan, right up until this year when I moved to the Switch. I travel for work a lot and decided to move to a portable, durable game system. Loving it so far, and I was pleasantly surpised at the number of games available.

My only complaints are not being able to back saves up to an SD card, and the controllers are a touch smaller than I would like but overall I'm very happy.

  • Thanks for the help everyone I have disabled the youtube app while I check out alternatives! I really appreciate y'all not making me feel like an idiot.
