  • Visual snow. I have it too. Really sucks when I want to look at the stars.

  • Unfortunately, I think your best move would be to flee the country by any means necessary. Do you have any relatives or friends who live abroad? Even if you are sleeping on a air mattress on someone's living room floor, it would be an improvement. I do not think the conditions in your home country will improve anytime soon.

  • Pretty good! -20 here. We made crock pot dumping soup, my new snow boots and gloves arrived, and I am gonna bake coffee cake later to warm up the house.

  • The only correct answer.

  • There are windmills all over the place here and I love seeing them. To me this is what the future should look like. Poeple have used windmills for centuries, why stop now?

  • Oh hey, are you talking about Rapist Brock Allen Turner who has been going by his middle name lately, Rapist Allen Turner?

  • You guys talk to computers in the language of computers. You are trying to get the computer to do something you want. However the computer doesn't help you out, you have to tell it explicitly what to do down to the tinyist detail or it won't work and you will be sad.

To the outside observer this looks like typing gibberish and copying in chunks of more gibberish. With occasional swearing.

How'd I do? (I know very little about programming and computers, I've worked manual labor for something like 20 years.)

  • I'm playing through Knights of the Old Republic right now. The only thing that makes the graphics tolerable is playing on my switch. The screen is small enough to minimize the bad graphics and jank. But if I was playing it on a TV or computer screen I wouldn't be able to continue. It hasn't aged well at all.

  • I feel you. We have had the rug pulled out from under us so often we might as well lay on the floor. I wish I had some advice to give you, but I don't. All I can say is I truly sympathize becuase I am going through the same thing. We are just going to have to hang in there, for better or worse.

  • I played it on the switch and loved it. Didn't really notice any major performance issues with it.

  • Seconding Disco Elysium. A lot of the ways I think about addiction are forever changed after playing that game.

  • Huh, I never thought about doing this. Maybe I should start.

  • Agreed! House of Leaves is a must read. Get the physical book, it won't work with an Ereader. I got the softcover edtion and it was totally worth it. If I ever sell my house I am going to rough up my copy real good and hide it somewhere for the new owners to find.

  • I love that cat tree!

  • Good luck buddy! Therapy really helped me, although it might take a few tries to find a therapist you like.

  • I re-watched this movie a month or so ago with some friends. We were bitterly cursing the cinematographer for making us look at Shatners stunt doubles butt for what felt like a minute straight.

  • I was in collage when Fight Club came out. Of course a bunch of guys decided to make an underground Fight Club. I never went to one bc I am a women and therefore exculded from Manly Punching Time but, boy, oh boy did I witness the fallout.

It didn't take long for poeple to realize that maybe a computer major shouldn't be fist fighting a ex marine who was here on the GI bill. Or maybe accounting majors shouldn't be trying to punch the six foot tall guy who does construction to afford his textbooks. Poeple had black eyes, knocked out teeth, concussions and face swelling. Turns out it's hard to hide an underground fight ring where you hit each other in the face.

Luckily the Fight club disbanded before admin got involved, and before anybody got really hurt.
