I mean it could work. Have one of those movie "fan in an air duct" murder fans and then put a cute animal behind them. Endless supply of the proverbial "lemmings hitting the fan".
Yeah you could argue that what Israel is doing is much smaller in terms of body count. Iraq and Afghanistan cost million lives+ and many more ruined. Israel is only at 30-40k so far.
But the quality bluntness of propaganda and cruelty of warfare is definitely different. The palestinian people have been imprisoned on a tiny strip of land and have nowhere to go.
I've been wondering why nobody has brought this clear comparison up before. The progressive left knows this will only antagonize the right wing. Since the objective is to save innocent civilian lives and get a ceasefire and not to score political points, they don't draw the parallel.
And the liberals and right wing are excusing Israels behavior because subconsciously they know they did the same thing. So if Israel is guilty, so is the US.
The only one getting political points from the comparison is Russia to keep the atrocity by Israel going, damage the Reputation of the US and distract from their own war. Well or Israel possibly. Not accusing you at all, just musing from an "information warfare" perspective.
“They made us out to be a bunch of Jewish fascists who want to kill Arabs,” he said in an interview with Ynet. “We’re representing the country, and this song raises morale
Just once I'd like journalists to point out nonsense non-sequitur. Fascism is exactly a belief in superiority of one's national or racial identity and the inferiority of others. Then they immediately position themselves as victims again.
The overwhelming absence of critique in liberal newspapers can be seen as evidence of self censorship due to "anti-semitism". But corporatism / imperialism can also explain that. The charge of antisemitism is always hurdled at pro-palestinian (anti-genocide) protesters. Liberal media was also arguing "(a free Palestine) from the river to the sea" is a call to genocide.
It's very unlikely I'm going to run my own instance, although I would like the freedom to tinker with the web client. Probably going to try to just run the UI client locally at some point.
lemmy.world requires an email and defederated from hexbear
lemmy.ml doesn't require an email but gets you banned for "genocide apologia" when arguing to vote for biden on hexbear or arguing that liberalism and fascism are two different things.
I came to lemmy thinking tankies are a myth so I had to learn the hard way :D
Because my instance only has two users my ‘local’ feed is basically a copy of my ‘subscribed’ feed plus a couple posts from communities that my wife subscribes to that I don’t.
But if you switch to "all" instead of subscribed and sort by active or hot you see the popular posts on all of lemmy, right? And you see all the communities under /communities link?
But the CO2 emissions of a jet are absolutely negligible if you accurately count them for the concert goers :D Sorry I don't mean to argumentative.
But yeah, that could be good. But with electric busses you also have the problem that you don't utilized them well - most of the time the bus would just be parked and the embodied energy of the battery be worse than a ICE bus. Same logic for embodied energy is true for a jet too, you'd want a fleet of rent-able jets that are optimized for low energy use - something like the Celera 500L. That jet is a bit slower but incredibly fuel efficient (possibly more fuel efficient that a bus!). But do you trash the existing jet and throw it away? Because that could be worse because then the embodied energy was wasted. Basically you'd need an expert in carbon accounting to figure this out.
Why don't we have a fleet of Celera like jets already? If we were an intelligent civilization we'd put massive investments in that. Or high speed rail and have rail cars for bands. But we don't - and won't. Partially because of propaganda, because it's easy to blame the "virgin madonna" and call her a b**** instead of facing the reality that we're completely and utterly incapable to do anything about climate change. National or civilization level policy is controlled by systems and not by human beings.
I'd be happy with a simple and cheap PCB with 6-8 USB-C ports that I can integrate into my desk similar to wall sockets. And that can do both high speed and power delivery.
Lol I get your frustration. But yeah USB-C cables can be "high speed" for data transfer or "high current" for charging. And the marketing when you look for cables in shops is confusing. But it comes from the requirements of wire gauge and shielding. I mean you now have one cable standard that can do everything, deliver enough data for 4k or more or deliver 48V and 5A - which is 240 watt and enough to power a small chainsaw. A USB-C powered chainsaw, think of the possibilities! :D
Artists are "inspired" by existing art or things they see in real life all the time. So that they can replicate art doesn't mean they can't generate art. It's a non sequitur. But I'm sure people are going to keep insisting on this so lets not argue back and forth on this :D
Yeah. And it's not just how good the images look it's also the creativity. Everyone tries to downplay this but I've read texts and those videos and just from the prompts there is a "creative spark" there. It's not very bright spark lol but it's there.
I should get into this stuff but I feel old lol. I imagine you could generate interesting levels with obstacles and riddles and "story beats" too.
This is still so bizarre to me. I've worked on 3D rendering engines trying to create realistic lighting and even the most advanced 3D games are pretty artificial. And now all of a sudden this stuff is just BAM super realistic. Not just that, but as a game designer you could create an entire game by writing text and some logic.
There are tons of books. Afaik the main storyline was an extragalactic invasion by a super evil swarm. Also explains why the emperor build so many ships.
But lots of false claims for products would be considered false advertising even if those attributes don't have a legal definition.
