I feel like you’re just making things up now

Me and my gf have generally have an overlap in music taste (heavy metal/hard rock) but only I like heavy electronic (too “noisy”/overstimulating for bee) and the music I don’t like of hers is more pop music (I like some of it also depends how I feel)

So I’ll go break the news to her that we have to break up due to music taste. It’s a shame cus we have a ton of shared interest but this… aw man can’t believe this is why we gotta split

I will also admit that got a very good chuckle out of me

A few years ago my GF was driving with me and we were leaving college and you can take a right on red but it’s in a weird spot so between trees and oncoming traffic coming up form a hill it’s pretty much a blind turn

Anyways the car behind us starts honking because the roads been clear for maybe 10 seconds (spoiler alert: it’s clear until we get the green) but it’s legal to turn right in right you don’t have to. She didn’t want to go cus it was so hard to see

Bonus point, this guy absolutely blasted off past us in the other lane and promptly speeds by an unmarked cop on the side of the road

I’ve been on lemm.ee this whole time and I like it. I definitely recommend it if defederation is an issue for you since sunasaurus stance on defederation is it is the big red button and users should have the choice of making a blocklist (unless it’s stuff like illegal content thats defederated). You can even keep your username if it’s not taken on that instance and the beauty of the fediverse is you can move instances and create account as many times as you want

As for having a main instance. No such thing. This picture really helped me understand how federation works as the email anology people use didn’t really help me.

Anyways lemmy.world is just another instance, it just happens to the be the biggest. Lemmy.world ,.ee, .ml, whatever lemmy instance you can think of are completely independent. Think of them as separate websites if that helps. But due to the fediverse protocol they can all share content back and forth, it really is crazy when you think about it
