They forsake and forego a lot of random stuff in favor of rewards after death.
And if they think it'll get them any bonus, they don't care if they take everyone else with them, hence the Republican Evangelical politicians generally trying to supply the ingredients for the battle of Armageddon to happen.
Tldr; I think it's greed typical of those who would fully knowledgeably choose to be a Republican combined with the beliefs of an Evangelical trying to cash in on rewards asap, in the way a Republican typically does.
Ah yeah, that would be a worry, except I forgot to mention that most of the code I work on usually gets thrown away after like 6 months. Makes tech debt not have nearly as big of an impact on me.
We do have a longer lasting code base that the little widgets I make run off of. That has a much more strict requirements to ensure tech debt is not introduced specifically so we don't end up in that sort of a position.
That said, and yet we couldn't even keep it out of our own code base. So yeah, I think my original comment is just wrong because I forgot all the ways tech debt actually has effected me in the past and how my industry's project cycle is so short term that i rarely have the opportunity to run into tech debt that I caused in a problematic way...
Fair point, I work in a consumer facing, fast turn around, short lived code project industry. Not a typical software project with long life cycles.
These practices would almost certainly bite my company in the ass if we had to maintain anything for longer than year.
Occasionally, we do have to support a client for multiple years, and everytime it's a hilarious shit show trying to figure out how to keep all the project dependencies up to date. This is likely platform tech debt, and would be the beginning of the problem if we didn't have the privilege of being able to start over from scratch code-wise for each client's new order.
I guess I'm just in a lucky spot in the programmer pool where tech debt literally doesn't hit me as hard as it usually does others, and I just couldn't identify that before now lol
Instead of saying tech debt isn't that bad, my tune will change to something else. Like I said, I was on a team at one point that had a worse than usual tech debt problem, and it was unworkably stressful to deal with. Im guessing that experience is more typical of being near tech debt than my other experiences.
Rarely have I ever actually had consequences for my sins, which tends to be why I don't go back and fix them....
If tech debt weight is felt in any way, it tends to get fixed. If it's not felt, it's just incredibly easy to forget and disregard.
(This is mostly me not learning my lesson well enough from my time being on Tech Debt: The Team. I do try and figure out the correct way to do things, but at the end of the day, I get paid to do what the boss wants as cheaply as possible, not what's right :/ money dgaf about best practices until someone gets sued for malpractice, but on that logic, maybe the tech debt piper just hasn't returned for payment from me yet... Only time will tell)
Yeah, it works really well for me, but I also have taken it since I was young whenever I needed/wanted it, so it might just work well for me. I'd recommend starting with like a 5mg, give it an hour to work, then if you still don't feel tired, I'd take another one.
Worst case you'll still have to deal with the shitty situation with a slight melatonin hangover (I warn you in advance that it can happen, but it usually only happens if you take too much and it can't metabolize before you wake up. You're just very sleepy until it's done)
Best case, you end up going to bed earlier than normal and you feel fine in the morning.
That's entirely possible, it's not like I did any research into feasibility or to see if anyone had done it already.

It is, but I'm spinning out about moderation and neutrality in allowed articles. I don't trust anything to do that well, but the closest candidate I think would be a nonprofit gov org most likely. I have no idea though, this is one of those things you'd have to convince someone to spend a lot of money on a leap of faith that has a decent chance of not working out
I wonder if this is an issue that a different centralized app could solve. Like if there was a government funded platform that just linked out to news sources.... I can make an app like that, but who gets the power in this case? My best guess would be the Canadian government, but the im not really in the know in that regard....

My issue is the characterize seems to be all over the place at best and minorly nefarious at worse, but I think I totally get where you're coming from.
I do appreciate the second guess though, I do sometimes write things in ways that make people think I actively dislike them when all I'm actually doing is reporting a reaction that I thought was interesting, and I think a little bit of that happened here.

I'm sorry, but your post seems incomplete or I'm reading too far past what you're actually saying. Are you meaning to say this is what teachers are supposed to be doing (ie, pretending to be jailers instead of educators) or are you saying this needs to change somehow? Something else, maybe?
Like the way you write makes me think a lot of unflattering things about your stances, and I'm not sure why... like, for example, it seems like you're saying it's a good thing child labor protections are being taken away in Republican states... is that actually your position though? Funilly enough, it seems if you put those specific meanings behind individual emoji, and also display the amount of those emoji accrued, it seems like that would fix the issue, except for more obvious cases of unintended use, like trolling and polling.

Ahh that makes sense. I only remember switching out entire sets when I was doing a 3 monster hunt on a time limit, so I think it likely includes weapons to switch out.

I love grinding for armor, that "to get" list that alerts you when you have all the components needed makes planning out armor builds a breeze. That's one qol update that I really miss in MHGU.
As for the joycons, it's no big deal anymore. I already dropped some money trying new joycons, and that didn't work so I'll just cut my losses and deal with not having a dockable switch. It's not like I used it a lot before, it probably stopped working on one of my long breaks from the switch lol
