Okay I promise I'm not a eugenicist but I am kinda interested in the genetics and physiology of top athletes. At the highest level that last 1% of advantage from just genetic luck is pretty interesting to me. Obviously it doesn't diminish from what the athletes have accomplished but I do think it's interesting. Like we're all just piloting meat based mech suits and the underlying base stats fluctuate between models and even individual units. I think that's pretty cool to think about and also worth acknowledging on top of the hard work an athlete puts into perfecting their chosen sport.
As someone not interested in star wars I can't wait for in ten 10 years time when suddenly liking the sequel trilogy is cool just like how the prequels were hated then became cool to like.
Ehhhh I think there might be place for a little more subtlety. Someone who's admitted to doing so probably doesn't deserve to be banned from participating in a sport they probably love. And a hard line might encourage people to take the denial till death approach which can make things annoying
I can totally imagine an innocent couple sharing a cute nickname like snowflake and then having it ruined by the rest of humanity who are out here in the culture war trenches
I'm an original meme purist. I wish id never seen any filthy reposted meme even if I hadn't seen it before. I only want Virgin memes, straight from the source
My hot take is cringing is good actually. You should move on from the dumb shit you did in the past and recognising that is dumb is very different from not being ashamed of it.
