  • Being imprisoned in school in name of education is already miserable though

  • I had a look and it so happens there are 2 properties for sale within a few hundred meters from me.

€ 200,000 for a one room apartment of 46 m²

€ 560,000 for a large apartment with balcony

The nearest house costs a bit over € 1.2 million.

I got lucky with a cheap apartment ~40m² for € 662/month (which is almost as much as minimum wage here btw). Renting till I die I guess 🤷

  • Swiping sucks, this is vow or loss when I swipe without namely correcting everything

  • Paypal is the worst.

I wanted to link a card to Paypal but it just kept saying I couldn't transfer money to it. Support said they could see there was a block on it which would resolve after 72 hours. Weeks later I finally get a response: adding a card is not supported in your country. Why do they let me add a card and then lie to me?

I get some side cash in a foreign currency but have no way to get the money out without being charged a crazy fee

  • I've traveled on far less than a 1000 eur a month. With that kind of money, I can still save up.

  • Quit my job and find a place where I can live off 1000 a month

  • It depends on how the video is embedded and which format it is.

    • You can try to open Page Info (CTRL+I) > Media tab and see if you can find the video there (Firefox).
    • Sometimes you can right click and open frame in new window, which then allows you to save it (you may need to enable dom. event. contextmenu in about:config if they block right click)
    • Get the VideoDownloadHelper addin (Firefox)
  • Not sure, but it works

  • Do they? Maybe it's more unpleasant because they're expensive

  • It's pretty good and you can create custom commands relatively easy. I wanted to use it for my smart plugs, which works by linking it to Openhab, but some hardware is not supported so I don't actively use it. It only sucks that it loses its connection often so you have to log in to the website and link it again.

  • Boredom. At least I'll die one day. A hat may be stuck in some cupboard until it slowly decays over thousands of years.

  • In Europe too. It already looked like fall in early August. It's because of the heat.

  • Isn't it the opposite? Nobody would give out their real name online until Facebook came along and normalized it. Google then forced your personal Gmail email account to be your account for everything as well.

  • A lot of companies get large investments from investors. Investors generally have a lot of stake in real estate.

Probably the same reason why small startups get fancy offices in the city center as soon as they get their investments, but there's no budget for salaries.

  • It depends on your location whether you need a VPN. I'm good without it. If you want to pay, maybe you can pay for usenet instead.
