    Inflation is legitimately bad and affects every aspect of one's life in this country, and unlike abortion, adversely affects nearly the whole population of this country.

    One of the lessons of fascist history is that, when people can't afford basic necessities, they start caring less about social issues.

  • With all due respect to Maori people, these displays are annoying to watch, but I'm of the opinion that there shouldn't be any religious displays in government proceedings.

  • I hate agreeing with Donald on anything, and I understand that he's doing it for all the wrong reasons, but I think this is objectively a good thing. It won't amount to much because his administration is a bunch of incompetent cretins, but after watching Biden's many public foibles these last several years, I 100% think we the people deserve to know the extent to which Democrats were Weekend at Bernies-ing Biden around.

    And, if you're a Democrat, there's certainly a chance that Trump's cognitive issues begin to become too public to ignore within the next three years, and this precedent would be a good one to have in place if that occurs too.

  • Stories like this are why I can't help but laugh a little whenever I see a thread about Ukraine or something and it's filled with a few hundred people who honestly think we're the good guys in the world. This headline should be impossible, but it's not.

    Here in the US it's legal, and likely constitutional, since our Constitution allows for the legal enslavement of people convicted of a crime.
