  • Here's what Donald farted into the wind on his media platform: “Many calls and meetings now taking place. I do a lot, and never get credit for anything, but that’s OK, the PEOPLE understand.”

It infuriates me that Israel attacked Iran first and they're still messaging this as 'premeditated murder' on the part of the Iranians.

  • I suppose, if you're looking to make it more convenient, you could cook things in bulk and then freeze portions of it for later consumption.

  • It's very simple.

Any time you set something down, keep this thought in the back of your mind: If you can put it down, you can put it away.

  • I don't have many happy memories of my father growing up. All he knew his entire life was hard work and he leaned into that, because his dad died when he was eleven. I am grateful to him for a few things he did that made a major impact on my life:

    • He and my mom got my eyes fixed when I was four years old, before which I was legally blind.
    • He put the first $1000 I ever saw in my hand to pay a college tuition bill so I wouldn't have to quit.
    • He made sure I had everything I needed growing up in terms of material needs.

But there are a wealth of shitty memories too. He was drunk for most of my childhood and adolescence and verbally abusive. There were times he'd show up to my baseball or soccer practices and games and beer cans would be falling out of his truck. (Never had an adult intervene there, though.)

Most annoyingly, he and my mom have "borrowed" my car for a year to work for DoorDash. They're too old now to get jobs anywhere else and have to survive.

The best thing I can say about him now is that I know he regrets all of it. On the rare occasions I have him over he always has a gift of some sort. It's usually something small, because they're very poor. Last time it was a container of oatmeal. It's his way of saying sorry, because his stoic, 1940's and 1950's upbringing produced a man who doesn't know how to actually say he's sorry.

  • Atticus is a king.

  • How is this not bigger news?

Because, like everything, what's important only depends on which news network you watch.

  • You are objectively wrong.

They have solved homelessness, minus approximately 1,000 willfully homeless people. (Though I like to think of them as Nomads.)

  • Also, fun fact, but there's a sabotage field manual on cia.gov.

  • I'm going to the one in my area. Probably won't stay long as I have issues with being in large crowds, but I'm going to hand out some free ice water and help people stay hydrated.

  • I live in an area that gets a ton of visitors and I often have to make sure people understand the pet names they're hearing are for my yorkie (Things like 'cutie bootie' or 'sugar booger'.)

  • Fair points.

I'm not saying you're wrong, just that unemployment means something very different in more extreme capitalist countries. :)

  • Oof.

Doesn't Finland have UBI though? They've also basically solved homelessness.

  • Oh, to live in a country where THIS is the most pressing legislative priority.

    I'm jealous.

  • Sorry to say, but no idea.

We used separate applications for seven years (Jabber for IM and Asana for ticket management), and for me, that's what I'm stuck with using Teams for, at least until Microsoft drops AI into and it eats itself.

  • Agreed.

    I like it here.

  • I just walked my dogs through a shopping district and stopped at a store that gives out puppy treats.

There were two siblings screaming and fighting. I felt bad for the parents, but relieved for myself.

  • I'm stuck with Teams in my job.

    I fucking hate it.

  • Just like every time the pope takes a ride in the popemobile.
