  • This. Could be a driver issue, could be Pipewire. It's not occurred on Windows at all, AFAIK.

  • ikr? I have a Don Wada plush on pre-order since early October and the vendor had to delay it to this month. The hell is going on?

  • Not really, the Switch Taiko games work with either button presses or gyroscope. But Hori does have a taiko drum controller that was bundled with the box set in Asia and Europe. For some reason it's harder to get the drum in America.

  • I bought the box set for this game which came with a cartridge a couple years ago. Good thing I've got that, now, welp.

  • Spotify became so slow for me that I had to move the other direction.

I've manually handled my library, but I've used Playlisty for whatever playlists I wanted from Spotify.

  • KDE, just because it's a good balance of usability and customisability.

  • Ehhh, even for that I've had issues, even before the API stuff. The solutions I came across either came from casual word of mouth on Discord, tutorials on GitHub or forums other than Reddit.

  • I just don’t use Reddit at all anymore.

  • That’s the fediverse for you! I’ve had better software discussion outside of it tbh.

Anyhow, library management on Apple Music is also way less annoying than on Spotify, especially when handling tracks you import from your local library.

  • For near-guaranteed compatibility, there are dedicated manufacturers like System76 and Tuxedo. Framework also claims Linux compatibility but for set tested distros (Ubuntu and Fedora).

Generally, anything with Intel/AMD graphics and Intel Wifi is pretty much guaranteed to work in my experience. For laptops, high-DPI displays can be problematic but the fixes are on Wayland which is getting higher priority now.

  • Well now I learned Viacom also provided billboard ads.

  • I never noticed that for years. Now I can’t unread that word anymore. Thanks.

  • My phone and my phone plan. Haven't been that happy with it lately, but there's no need for me to buy a new one yet.

  • Isn't it in xbps-src? IIRC the Void guys don't want to package things that don't have a blanket redistributable clause in their license.

  • I presume so, but there might be an Xorg version because of NVIDIA, who still seems to be problematic with Wayland when using their drivers.

  • Wayland has worked better than Xorg in my experience.

I tried i3 with Compton and Picom - both compositors for Xorg - and it had major rendering issues, both on AMD (weird lagging) and NVIDIA (colour issues). Meanwhile I tried Hyprland on a spare PC and it provides a great tiled WM with both form and function. If anything'll get me on a tiled WM, it'll be Hyprland now. I'm also looking forward to Wayfire. We need a spiritual successor to Compiz.

  • It hurts small providers more than anything. My main fediverse instance has locked everything down in fear of retaliation. They might be paranoid, but at the same time I don't blame them. Not to mention, the smaller providers will find it harder if not impossible to fund for compliance with this. It ironically makes Big Tech stronger.

Oddly enough, another site I frequent - Rate Your Music - separated the main site and the forums at the same time. They blame it on "technology companies", I wouldn't be surprised if it was this exact bill and Ofcom that forced their hands.
