  • Speed is controlled with the gearbox and engine, brakes are for stopping (this is broad advice, obviously)

Don't push in the clutch and coast when you're stopping, you should be engaged in case you need to throttle out of a situation

  • They need their safe space, because when it comes to damn near any subject, they're wrong, but they can't handle that

Conservatives tend to be very stupid too, and are usually unable to grasp the arguments against their stance, so they get frustrated

I don't bother engaging with them very much

I'll typically keep it to "you're wrong, but I doubt you are willing to discuss things in good faith, so I won't bother explaining why" and ignore them

Punitive justice won't change the way people think, the cycle will just repeat

Things like the death sentence don't work, because people are still murdering, even though they know that they face execution for it

    It's a pointless punishment

We had a back and forth, they edited their comment to make it clear that it was a joke, not a bigoted belief, we had a good conversation and even a few others joined in with a swell of positivity

On reddit it would have probably escalated into something unpleasant, but here everyone actually had a laugh about it and we all noted the difference in positivity

There are still creepy children posting stuff in places like asklemmynsfw and annoying porn bots, but it's still better overall by a lot

It's going to be interesting to see what Digg becomes
