  • Twitter made itself a closed platform and with the rate limit he made it impossible for reporters to report on anything regarding twitter. So nobody is talking about twitter and by extension Elon. This is Elon eating worms on the playground so that the other kids will pay attention to him again.

  • I think it's because leftists are, as a group, a lot less toxic and hateful. They are happy to be a tiny community chatting with each other about being a trans furry communist all day every day.

The right on the other hand are, as a group, a bunch of anti social losers who thrive on hating and complaining about stuff. That's not a sustainable platform because it's either a miserable experience or it gets shut down for hate speech so they migrate around and attach themselves to heathier communities and complain about those instead.

  • When I saw this post I thought to myself, this is going to have that crazy tankie writing essays in the comments, and here you are!

Go outside! Being a brain in a vat that rants on social media does not help the revolution.

  • Because ads are made by a company in order for that company to sell a product that they own. This an independent article about a product so that consumer can learn about said product. You can tell that it's not an ad by reading more than the headline.

  • We have people that assign numerical values to peoples ability to read and write every day. They are english teachers. They test all kinds of stuff like vocabulary, reading comprehension and grammar and in the end they assign grades to those skills. I don't even need tiny professors in my pocket, they are just out there being teachers to children of all ages.

One of the task I have chatGPT was to name and describe 10 dwarven characters. Their names have to be adjectives like grumpy but the description can not be based on him being grumpy. He has to be something other than grumpy.

ChatGPT wrote 5 dwarves that followed the instructions and then defaulted to describing each dwarf based on their name. Sneezy was sickly, yawny was lazy and so on. This gives a score of 5/10 on the task I gave it.

There is a tapestry of clever tests you can give it with language in focus to test the ability of a natural language model without giving it a bunch of numbers.

  • If this was done against you or someone you liked, you would not make those arguments. If they replaced spez with a rainbow flag you would immediately identify it as a hate crime and a call to violence, because it fucking is. You can argue that spez isnt harmed by these kinds death threats and should just allow them on r/place but at least be honest with your fucking opinions.

  • An illustration suggesting that someone could be killed does not express any intention to actually kill someone.

Wow. Brain just turns to literal soup as soon as the hate is directed towards someone you don't like.

  • If you look at his history, he thinks that talking about companies in any context should count as advertisement for that company. He is either stupid or has some personal grievance he can't talk about because it makes him look petty.

  • What is and isn't an ad is a complicated. Any post talking about something that costs money could be an ad but it could also be a consumer information post. I have some tolerance for mods trying to find a balance and correct wording based on how things shake out.

Rules against insults and harassment is super straight forward and any community that gets the line wrong will quickly be filled with the worst people and the fun people will go to other communities where they got it right.

  • It is a guillotine with a reddit head in it and the name spez written on it. Just depicting a guillotine is not a death threats but depicting a person in it that exist in the real world is absolutely a death threats against that person. If that is not a death threat there is no such thing as a death threats on the internet and moderation is dead.

  • I think it's a lazy way of doing it. OpenAI has clearly stated that math isn't something that they are even trying to make it good at. It's like testing how fast Usain bolt is by having him bake a cake.

If chatgpt is getting worse at math it might just be a side effect of them making it better at reading comprehension or something they want it to be good at there is no way to know that.

Measure something it is supposed to be good at.
