To be honest, selling copied games also paid for my games, my CD writer and then some when I was 14-15. Took ages to copy a single CD, and it would regularly fail, but friends happily paid me 10 euro for a working copy of the latest fifa.

Any references for that? First I hear of it.

Not that I don't believe you, but I'd like to read up about it. I basically never reboot my phone, never had issues.

The father complained that his daughter got refused entry into Canada and was then detained in the US. If she would have had the correct paperwork for Canada, nothing would've happened.

Most countries have very clear visa regulations, especially for short term visas. If you travel to the US and Canada as a European white person and you get refused entry because your paperwork is not OK, that is entirely on you. I deal with those entitled people on the regular. It's satisfying to see them not being able to use their white card. L2read and prepare.

If you're not white and European, that's a different story unfortunately...

(and just to be clear, I absolutely do not agree with what Drumpf is doing, the guy and his cronies and enables are criminals...)

Screenshots are so much faster than a link though on a phone. I do crop mine before sending, but I send a lot of Screenshots in my group chats.

Where I work, it's a non issue. As long as it doesn't impact your work and nobody notices it (foul odor or behaviour), nobody could care less.

It's easy to just spout generic steam hate, but I'd love to hear what steam does worse than other pc storefronts.

To be honest, books are the only form of media I don't pirate. They deserve my money. Sucks that I have to use big shops to get them digital, but it's so easy...

After some more thinking, I guess the original piracy has to come from somewhere :)

While it was an interesting read, the article is quite outdated and the author is overly negative of literally everything, not just privacy. If a browser has a glowy button, it's horrible because it's too fancy... I feel for the guy...

I'd just take a clear stance on something right from the bat, doesn't matter what. AI is always needlessly careful when you ask it to pick a favorite color/food/soccer team/religion/skincolor/country/...

The weird thing is that once you get a foot in the door, Japanese immigration policies actually aren't that strict. You just need a guarantor (company) to be willing to hire you.

The language barrier and hesitancy of companies to hire non-Japanese is the actual barrier, not so much the immigration policies themselves. The government could ofcourse encourage companies to hire foreigners...but Japan changes at a glacial pace.

I tried using it. Putting my phone down on any surface would trigger it. Made my biometrics completely useless. Too sensitive on my device, even on the lowest settings :(

My Instagram is full of fitness content (and good looking people tbh). Nothing comes even remotely close on pixelfed. No offence to federated social media, but we all ain't good looking :) (or suck at using filters...)
