  • Yeah, no. I should have put some hyphen I guess.

Opera chat-tabs. Opera has a sidebar for chat clients (eg messenger, WhatsApp, telegram,...) built-in. It works really well and is prettier than the Vivaldi implementation. Still sticking with Vivaldi though

  • Try it out. It's a sidebar that allows you to put all kinds of websites and tools in small pop-out windows.

A less visually appealing, but much more powerful version of the opera chat sidebar.

I've tried to get something similar in Firefox, but nothing comes even close.

Built-in functions >>> addons any day of the week.

    (cfr mouse gestures)

  • "give clay". The Dutch wanted to have clay for their world famous clay baths...

  • Tetris? Any remake they've made was basically just a texture pack?

    • Proprietary, yes, from a Foss pov it's not good I guess
    • Owned by ex opera ppl: that's a good thing tbh. Old opera was fantastic. New opera is more fishy after they were acquired by a Chinese group.

There is a lot of browser love in Vivaldi tbh. They are very open and transparent. Haven't found a single red flag about Vivaldi (aside from not being FOSS, which for me isn't a red flag per se)

They even run their own Mastodon servers for their community ;)

  • I don't use brave, but I use Vivaldi.

The main reason for me is native mouse gestures. They are so much better than addon mouse gestures.

And speed dials. Addon ones are okayish, but I prefer the Vivaldi implementation.

If Firefox would ever ass native mouse gestures, I would swap in an instant. Until then, no can do :(

  • It literally takes 1h max, and the majority is done automagically. Setting them up is the least annoying part of it all...

  • No native gestures = no go

  • Lol, did you really compare same sex attraction to pedophiles there? "I don't understand both"... Wtf dude.

  • You sound like a pleasant chap to be around...

  • I would love an iPad Mini running android. Theres basically no high end android tablet in that size factor, but I won't use fucking IOS just to get my favo form factor. iOS is so neutered and unpractical in comparison to android. It's so weird that iOS became so popular to me... It's still stuck 10y ago in like 90% of its os design ideas.

  • I mean, I can guarantee that every single mammal on earth alive today will be dead in 250 years. Nice prediction.

If you mean humanity: humans will 100% still be around in 250 years. Even with an advanced society. As advanced and interconnected as now? Who knows. But we'll still be far ahead of eg the middle ages or even early industrial revolution.

  • Do you have any proof of that?

Afaik in many European countries with legalized prostitution (eg Holland, Belgium,....) there is certainly no increase in illegal prostitution. But please, prove me wrong.

All research also indicates legalization upsides far outweigh the downsides.

  • No, sex work should be legalized and become a protected trade, just like other work. Only by legalizing it can you get rid of a large chunk of the shady part of it. (never all of it, but legalized sex work is 100% better than Grey zone sex work like it is now in so many places...)

  • I've gotten some good book recommendations through tiktok. But at the same time, the average tiktok video gives me like 3-5 recommendations. I see multiple of these videos every day. My to read list basically requires me stop working and live until my mid 250s to read everything....

  • Fair enough. Most articles are still about the original article, but it does seem the bcc (or at least the dinosaurs in control) has its own (shitty) trans agenda... .

Thanks for not attacking me, but giving actual info. Appreciate it.

I'll certainly be more wary about the bbc in the future.

  • OK, that's one really article that was in bad faith, but I would argue the topic has journalistic value. But it should have been more nuanced.

Does that make the entire bbc transphobic? I am in full support of trans rights (I have a gender fluid child), but not everything is 100% black and white (cfr gender ;)) , one bad article doesn't make the entire bbc transphobic.

  • Can you expand on that? They're my main news source and I've never got transphobic vibes from them.

  • If you can handle breaking the Geneva code, rimworld. If you add mods, the sky becomes the limit tbh. Only your imagination will stop you.
