And I have PDO pressings of Faith No More albums that are almost 40 years old and have just started to rot. Common occurrence with PDO pressings apparently; one manufacturing error is all it takes.
There may be already such a case but you and me have never heard about it and it's probably by some chinese no-name brand.
A proper metal mid-tower case with modular front panel I/O (using Framework's system with the USB-C converters) and modular optical drive/hard drive bays would be unique.
This is not really that interesting and kinda weird given the non-upgradability, but I guess it's good for AI workloads. It's just not that unique compared to their laptops.
I'd love a mid-tower case with swappable front panel I/O and modular bays for optical drives; would've been the perfect product for Framework to make IMO.
I never ever seen anyone use anything else than their finger to open them. It hurts a little bit I guess but at least for me, it's more convenient than getting a spoon first
He's doing some really good stuff for right to repair; he get's a bit overly dramatic sometimes but you can tell that he's just very passionate about those things.
I think he's the best type of influencer; rather than money or fame he strives for an end to the constant enshittification by exposing bad actors and not giving a shit about it.
I tested it at work (we used Obsidian for a while to build an IT Knowledgebase but since moved away from it) and it really couldn't be simpler.
The main thing that keeps me from trying it is that in order to pay with PayPal you have to use some janky workarounds... As soon as they figure that out I'll absolutely consider it
I've heard about syncthing but fear that it won't be compatible with all my devices
It's so frustrating that every even remotely interesting thing from the past is now part of its own collector scene... You can't find decent models for less than 100€ and even then they don't come with their proprietary battery. Net-MD ones cost even more (without Net-MD you need to spend even more on a HI-FI MD deck to copy tracks over).
The model pictured it one of the later Hi-MD machines that are just Unobtainium these days.
