  • Continent are fairly subjective. Some favor strictly connected lands (joining Eurasia). Others do it by the tectonic plates. Other by culture barriers drawing a line between Europe and Asia.

For the purposes of the post I simply meant to convey that the NA v SA distinction is widely accepted to be at the thinnest point between them. Which would include Central America w/ NA.

  • I agree with the sentiment on wages keeping up but I think ultimately the price isn't as important as the value. I've bought a games for $60 that I've got 2k+ hrs in. That's about 3 cents an hour, which I like to compare to a $15 dollar movie ticket that's ~2-3 hrs of entertainment ($5-7.5 hr)

Obviously not everyone, myself included, gets that much out of each game. But if some games costed $140 but did give 2k hrs of gameplay (7 cents per hr) I wouldnt be bothered. To be clear I don't think disposable AAA should jack up prices, but if the price reflects the value offered I see no issue.

On the volume thing I think we'll probably start to plateau in the next 30 years w/ % of the total world pop consuming games, and inflation will continue. I only wish to point out that the eternal $60 price tag is something that probably should end in our lifetimes.

  • The fact so much of the games industry has latch to $60 as 'the price' for decades is shocking. It's an unsustainable practice and will increasingly make companies lean more on post launch predatory practices.

  • Knife bans also get push back. Hawaii had a case earlier this year on the issue. There's just not as much litigation on it.

  • I liked it. Even a biased MBFC that is consistent in it's bias has value, as you can take the bias into perspective on interpreting the rating.

    1. Contact local counsel. There's probably an attorney who practices in rental law near you that does free consultations.
    2. It's not that we don't have protections it's that we have an access to justice issue.
  • I'm practice it only presents a problem to those who have previously testified but might be called as witness, so the def can confront them.

The only thing gained would be is now it's easier to bribe or threaten witnesses into not testifying. If you wish to not testify at all as others have mentioned I don't recall or I was tying my shoes are there for you to use.

  • LSAT test prep logic games? There's a few free batches of questions out there.

  • I imagine there's probably a good amount of subcontracting w/ American ones.

  • a black woman has no place in this world...

Wrong on this half, in that the factors of your birth & immutable traits or public opinion of those can't prevent you from have a place here regardless of any opinions.

...you will have to work extra harder to overcome hate and other things...

You would know the answer from you past 41 yrs better than I would.

  • Some people have problems in their life and it is convenient to believe they are do to an outgroup. You mention knowledge against it but these people live their lives and insert their instilled prejudices to explain the flaws, making them have (fake) first hand proof of their beliefs.

  • Yes $5 for 300 searches per month. $10 for unlimited.

  • not applicable to billion-dollar military boondoggles or handouts for corpos

You asked what good ideas to which he responded limiting government spending. Then you rebuke the notion that limiting wasteful spending is a fundamental good idea by criticizing politicians for not doing it in military boondoggles or with corporate welfare. Those are critiques of politicians not the ideas, as those negative examples are when the idea isn't applied.

I agree that we should curtail wasteful military spending and corporate welfare. But in advocating for those you yourself advocate for the idea of limiting government spending.

  • Very good point. People online like to read one comment from someone and put them in a group then prescribe the values of that individual to the entire group.

  • Don't shape your world views or perception of reality on what you read on Lemmy.

  • Yeah, the real impact of this will just be further alienation of trans youths.

  • Percentage based commissions is such a weird standard for pay. As if there is something inherit in the sale of any and every $275k home that merits $1,250 more in compensation than would be owed for a $250k home.

  • I only see one post from him across all communities in the past month. (This one)
