  • I get the end of work day hobble. Some weeks i work 6-7 days a week 10 hours a day. I live alone so chores really grind to halt on weeks like that. Then on my first day off i have to spend half of it doing chores. I wish i could have a better work life balance but i can't meet my financial goals working less and im not eager to hop into the job market again.

Ive recently moved to a new city and despite being here 2 years, ive not met a single friend outside of work mostly because im too exhausted to socialize and i can't justify the money going to a bar or something. The inconsistency of my work schedule also makes evening clubs or sports difficult to join as many days i work until 7 or 8 pm and I won't know that until a day or 2 in advance.

  • More supply should lower prices if done correctly. He explicitly states they want to add supply without lowering prices, therefore they may not provide enough supply to actually satisfy long term demand or make entry into the market possible for many first time buyers.

  • The first seconds of the video has the housing minister answering the question "do you think housing prices need to fall?" And he replies "no,..."

Edit:here is a CTV news link where he states "No. I think that we need to deliver more supply, make sure the market is stable. It’s a huge part of our economy,”

If that doesnt scream keep the status quo for housing idk what does.

  • this video goes into some details about the contradictions he's made. TLDW he doesn't want exisiting housing prices to fall but wants to build more affordable housing. This is difficult to achieve because adequate affordable housing will cause prices to fall. He says housing as an investment should be protected, so the government is stepping in to protect assets that gain as much as 30+% per year and will prevent them from falling/correcting. No other financial asset has protected gains like that.

  • Dragonflys, bats and many other animals rely on that as a food source, then other animals rely on the animals eating mosquitoes. Mosquitoes also spread disease which can act as a natural population control for some species. Everything is interconnected in ecosystems. The animals present, the temperature and chemistry of the water, the depth and nutrition of the soil, the plants that grow there. A minor change can ripple throughout the ecosystem and cause major consequences long term. Some of those changes occur naturally, but for the most part humans change ecosystems faster than they can naturally react.

  • I enjoy my job too for the most part, but i have to work 50+ hours per week in order to make ends meet and still save enough for the future. I'm so exhausted most of the time from work that my perosnal and social life is significantly impacted. My position is also technically on call but without on call pay and has very inconsistent hours, making adhering to a personal schedule or social plans very difficult.

I love my job but i am overworked, underpaid, understaffed, and under regulated.

  • Lots of respect for Doug Cockle, the VA. He could use the outcry to try to get another big deal and make more money as the main character, but instead he recognizes the witcher is bigger than him or his character and is happy to have another person take the lead role and the spotlight.

  • This article is about handguns. The vast majority of legal guns in Canada are shotguns and rifles. Handguns are already severely restricted in Canada and it is impossible to get one legally now unless your job requires one, such as law enforcement, game wardens, or certain security companies.

  • If Canada ever reaches a point like the USA where the government is unlawfully abducting people from their homes, you may understand why some people think common people should be able to own guns.

We unfortunately live in a world where guns exist and they can be used for oppression. People stand a better chance against armed opression when they themselves are armed.

Not every gun owner is out here using guns as an extension of power, most just use them for hobbies and huntings. And many express that they would fight against nazi level opression if it comes down to it.

  • Canada heavily investing in electrified public transit would do a lot more for the economy and the environment than any EV deal with any country. It also has a side effect of supporting denser housing which could help us get out of our housing crisis.

Canada will still need EVs for people who would rather drive or live rurally but our focus should be reducing the reliance on cars. EVs are massively energy and resource ineffcient compared to transit and transit can be made accesible to more people.

  • Most of the conspiracy theories involve that shadow group opressing people, removing rights from people, hiding truths, and transfering wealth to the higher classes.

A lot of what trump is doing goes along with that. I think this is not solid evidence against shadow government theory.

  • Ive seen this a lot and i don't think it is weird. One thind I'll mention is people are probably going to stop and watch you, ask questions, maybe even ask if they can try. If that won't bother you while practicing then I'd say go for it and get out there juggling. You could probably leave a hat or something on the ground and people will toss you a couple of coins just for letting them watch.

  • Carney has on several occasions said that canada should become a green energy super power. Carney canceled consumer carbon pricing, but he kept the industry pricing, where the tax can be more impactful in developing change. He also worked with the bank of england during a big change for net zero initiatives than many of the public pushed against. I think he will do more for the environment in Canada than previous liberal leaders. We as the population also have a role by writing to our MPs on what changes we want to see and protesting policies that harm our planet.
