The other team has taken a stance against racism so now this team had to adopt racism and due to a troubled history of racism in the USA and a majority demographic of 70% white folks, probably even more voter demographics, the Racism has a non-zero chance of winning.

Businesses succeed by profiting. The most successful businesses of any time period are ones who maximise profits at all costs, including ethics.

There are a lot of arguments about more ethical businesses being the most viable longterm, but that sort of variable isn't considered when the big businesses calculate their next move.

Almost none of the Tech Company leaders actually finished college, if somebody you know is calling them a genius then that person measures intelligence by profits. A very stupid person.

There are A LOT of instances to pick from if you'd rather connect to one closer to your region or attuned to your personal tastes, and they can all access posts from other instances so if you think an instance is run by people you can trust then feel free to make an account there.

To add onto Pug Jesus' explanation, each instance is a self-hosted server separate from all the others. That means they can potentially be removed or re-added to the fediverse at any moment, they all follow their own rules so the only fediverse-wide restrictions are that the instance isn't so insufferable that every other instance blocks them or defederates from them.
