  • I'm those cases isn't it because they had separate hardware built in for backwards compat? This is more of a PC style hardware upgrade rather than totally different hardware (compute wise) so it might be different for that reason?

  • You're the one derailing by intentionally misinterpreting and being thick about it. Highly encourage you to take a step back, look at this exchange, and think about the point and effectiveness of it all. All I can say is reading it literally made me shake my head and sigh.

  • See this is what I'm talking about. You're saying you've heard stories. I bet some of them are legitimate criticism, but I'm also positive many of them are from people that couldn't put on the bare minimum of effort when asking for help from strangers on the internet.

  • Find myself wondering if the quality of the remaining questions is higher. There definitely has airways been some of the gate keeping that people complain about, but a lot of it has also legitimately been people upset that they get redirected upon asking low quality or duplicate questions.

  • Yeah the search persistence is the only one that raised an eyebrow for me. I think it's cool as long as is easy and obvious to get url if you want.

The @keyword thing seems cool to me. I use the various shortcuts (random symbols) for those occasionally and have to relook them up so a slightly longer but easier to remember alternative seems like it would be nice.

  • When companies lay off US citizens then turn around and hire foreigners as replacements, the original employees are understandably upset. It's true that it is the company's fault, but it is also true that an H1B visa holder is working a job that should be occupied by a domestic worker.

  • I would recommend just trying to cultivate a YAGNI mindset. I add a little more to the rationale - we are not very good at accurately predicting future requirements so rework/unraveling work becomes likely.

Following from there, trying to use technology (I could be misinterpreting but I think that's what you mean by "systematically restrain") is also going to be things you don't need.

  • Do you actually have a point? Innocent children slain: bad. Evil leech that has a large part in oppressing us - maybe not so bad.

Do you really think the dude being white has anything to do with it? Pretty sure "CEO of health insurance company" is a sufficient descriptor and race has nothing to do with it
